  1. Oh, he's so cute! I think the name Max is cute! :]

  2. Well, since he stole my heart right away, I think Cupid or Eros would be good names for him. He's adorable and I want to take him home with me.

  3. *~* Starling *~*

    He is so damned cute!

  4. Oh, I want! Do you think I could pass him off as a dog? (I live in town :( Anyway. When I first read the title, I thought "Camilla". But then I read it was a he and saw his photo - perfect for his baby album - and knew he was "Daniel". So . . . If if I can talk my husband into selling our home and moving the country and starting a farm (we have a good start with the bunnies), I may to see if I can bring Daniel home to live with me. Or maybe another one if he has already been adopted. But that's a lot of 'If'! :D

  5. *Button* as in Butt On because we all know goats love to butt. I'd say butthead, but I'm not that crass :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. What a cute little boy! I say "Samson". Someday he's going to have long luscious curly locks. Although, I don't think it'll take his strength away when he is sheared.

  7. My suggestion is Merriwhether. The whole "Merriwhether Feather" thing is just stuck in my brain. LOL

    GnaS on Ravelry :)

  8. Finnegan - Irish - Means White
Yuichi - Japanese - Kind one (I love this one)
Rizzo - Italian - means curly haired

He is absolutely freakin adorable! I tried to talk my hubby into letting me have a goat in the backyard but he said no :( We have Dr. Doolittle down the street maybe i should see what kind of goat they have...

  9. Adorable! I'd name him "Merlin" because he magically steals my heart each time I look at him!

I love the fibers on her shop. The black smokey grey yearling mohair is my fave. What a beautiful color.

  10. He looks like a 'Sprocket' to me. :)

  13. DROOOOOOOL..... I am such a sucker for raw fiber.

Okay, he is soooo Westley because you really can't name him Dred Pirate Roberts...

  14. He's adorable!

    Hmmm....
It's close to St. Patrick's Day

and I love his little green and black coat
    so...

I'm going to say his name should be
    Murphy

  15. The name 'Emmanuel' popped into my head. =)

  16. Little Prince Prancy Pants :)

I realize this is an unlikely name for this goat - but if he were mine that is what I'd call him. (in fact alot of my cats get that knickname "prancy pants" when they are acting silly)

The way their locks curl up around their legs makes me think of little boys in royalty skipping around the palace in silk bloomer type things.

  17. Name: Malis.

Named after the plant of this day:
    Helleborus hyemalis .

  19. Can I just have the goat?

Well, the obvious names come to mind:

    Billy or
    Gruff

But then some other fun ones come to mind too:

    Brutus (LOL)
Pierre (he could be a french goat)
    Spunky
    Wizzer
    Bram (irish for abraham)
    Flynt
    Lennox (scottish nobleman)

    I could go on forever...

  20. Cog, because in that second photo the sly expression on his little face reminds me of the Clockwork Men from the Dr. Who episode "The Girl in the Fireplace." Picture here:

    http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/do/doctor-who--12--clockwork-man.jpg

That, or you could go with Benjamin or Franklin or George. The ears just take me straight to guys who wear powdered wigs.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think "Bubby vonGoattington"

He reminds me of my dog (but white, my dog is black) who we affectionately call Bubby. And he has to have a classy last name, because he's a classy looking goat.

    He's absolutely adorable and wonderful.

  22. Merriweather, he looks just like one I had growing up and that's what my Mom named him so I'll go with that :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oops, just realized someone already suggested Merriweather, hmmm..... Maybe I'll go with Cirrus since he'll have fleece as soft as a cloud.

  24. My votes are all greek related, because he reminds me of a satyr.

KROTOS: A Satyr of Mt Helikon in Boiotia (Central Greece) who was a dear friend of the Mousai (Muses). As a reward for his invention of rhythmic beats to accompany music, these goddesses placed him amongst the stars as the Constellation Saggitarius. Who better to name a goat after than one of the beloved of the Muses, since we all take our inspiration from the Muses?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, he is white... and he looks friendly so my name would be Casper. Casper the Friendly Goat.

    or maybe Van.. Van Goat.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't know why, but as soon as I saw his photo, I thought of "Phineas" from the book "A Separate Peace".

I really love goats and he looks chock full of personality. :)

  30. Taken from Email:

Besides a knitter, I'm also a NewAge musician and have a very private label, thinking that the name was something that fit me and the whole environment of what "New Age" means. Me, being born January 3, of course, I'm a Capricorn (the goat), but living in the "Age of Aquarius" I came up with the name "Capricorn In Aquarius"

Fitting that the little kid was born under the sign of Aquarius and he's already a Capricorn of sorts...

So, my suggestion is: Capinaq (pronounced "kap-in-nak") -- the CAPricorn (goat kid) born IN AQuarius.

    Cheers!

  34. I wish I could convince my husband to let me have a goat. Of course my dogs might not like sharing the tiny backyard with him, but wow he is adorable. I suggest Lockhart as the name. I love mohair locks, and he looks like he is going have a lot when he grows up. He's also adorable so I think the name is good a fit. I will posting this link on blog as well.

  36. Nestro. Animals are key to having a plan we had a whole heard of Angora rabbits named after Greek Gods and Goddesses. Sheep were singers, and the Angora goats were Artists. But Nestro. Sounds right.

  37. Fintan - its Irish for fair-haired or white-fire. A strong name but with a bit of softness behind it...

    ReplyDelete
  50. I would name him Rocky.

We are in a time where we all are rethinking our priorities. A new life is a symbol of hope and promise. Rocky could be the nickname of our president and of course there's the image of the boxer Rocky. There's Rocky the rooster in Chicken Run who makes the right decision and becomes the sire of a new generation of free range chickens. And of course Rocky the Flying Squirrel.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'd name him Mephisto, after the devil in Goethe's *Faust*. Of course there is the connection between the devil and goats in folk tales, but I would choose the name because, lets face it, Mephisto is actually a pretty nice devil with a great sense of humor who is incredibly cute. Just like this little guy (well, the cute and nice :D)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I want to snuggle him!
I think 'Lucky' would suit him as he's is going to make someone feel very lucky with his name choice.

    7. Begley (Irish for little hero)
    8. Owen (Welsh for well born)

    11. Tir Na Nogh (Gaelic for land of young or youthful land)
