Sheeps of Egyptian Cotton and *Giveaway*

Ooooh Ooooh Ooooh!!!
I need to tell you all about a brand new shop that has some things you really need to try!! Betty, the artist/spinner/mastermind behind Sheeps of Egyptian Cotton has sent in 2 mini hanks of her handspun cotton for you all to try as her samples! I am going to tell you- it is so hard for me to comprehend this is all handspun! It is so even and the colors are so pretty- think of the best commercial cotton you've experienced and then try to envision it spun by hand! Betty has officially bumped cotton up to a "luxury" yarn! Her prices are incredible and she offers handspuns in other fibers as well.
Betty has generously offered up 4 skeins of her Isis cotton handspun yarn as a giveaway! Please visit Sheeps of Egyptian Cotton find something you like, and post about it here! Plurks, tweets, youtube videos, blogposts, rav forum posts all count towards second entries! Make sure there is a way for me to find you in case you win, on Friday, when I"ll be drawing for all the giveaways this week!
Betty will also be featured in March's sampler box, but we all hope she continues to contribute!

  1. It's really hard to pick a favourite, because the cotton really intrigues me - never felt handspun cotton before. I do like the pastel colourways she has, especially Sylvia's Mother, and I am mesmerised by the lovely tencel blend skein in a lovely shade of green... and you're not kidding about the prices, that's crazy low!

  2. That is some drop dead gorgeous spinning there! Another hard choice to make, but I'm loving the Rosebud - Isis cotton. It reminds me of a peace rose we had growing on the side of the house I grew up in. Good memories.

  7. *blushes* Thanks all. I luvs what I do. As for low prices, I have a chronic illness. I spin/dye/whatever to take my mind off it. Think of it as my pain medication.

More being posted this week, so come on back.

  32. Wow, once again great stuff. This site has been awesome for me for finding new fibers, but terrible on the ol pocket book. I really like her primary election, it looks like it would make a great kids scarf or hat set. Her prices are also amazing, really easy on the pocket book.

I also posted about this contest and all your other contests and about the Phat fiber box on my blog.

  40. I'm torn between the merino/tencel in tealish-gray and the meadowbrook BFL. These prices are amazing, I'm actually showing some amazing will power by not going back for the merino/tencel. I'm in the middle of doing taxes and don't know how much I'm getting back yet. I will have to make another visit when the check comes!

p.s. I'm totally twittering about this!

  43. Holy Cow!! How do you expect anyone to pick just one favorite thing?? I love her colors. If I had to pick favorites, I think I would choose Seawall, which is a wool yarn, Ocean Beach, which is cotton, and Dragon Horde, which is also cotton. Her prices are too good to be true!! I will definitely be keeping an eye on her store. I am HeatherD on Ravelry.
