Zebisis and Giveaway!

Oh goodness, where to begin! I am near speechless at the beauty of this shop! Several of you received a gorgeous sampling of Zebisis fiber in their March Phat Fiber boxes. Delicious and generous braids of silk and merino in exquisite jewel tones, everything right down to the hand made tags just oozed with decadence! My Zebisis experience can be likened to finding a hidden perfumery on a narrow street- its black walls diffused with faceted and gleaming perfume bottles adorning the shelf after shelf of precious resins and absolutes beckoning you to sample and indulge in an exotic olfactory saturnalia.
Zebisis Designs is a hand spindlers nirvana. If it isn't completely exquisite, it simply is not in Maiysha's shop. I indulged in her spindle club and I am almost giddy with anticipation for the first shipment! You see, Maiysha sent me a package with extra goodies for me to sample (because she is so sweet!)- some deliciously jewel-toned braids, silk and a gorgeously fluffy batt! The special box also contained a stone whorl spindle to be given away to you, here, on this blog. After moving the spindle between my fingers (no I didn't use it *grin*) it was love at first twirl and there was no option left for me, but to join that spindle club- a perfect example of my "it's my birthday" justification routine.
Ok, I'll stop gushing and get on with the giveaway!
Today's offering is a stone whorl (rhodonite) spindle- complete with black lacquered shaft and gold-filled hand bent hook. I will include a bit of Maiysha's decadent fiber for you to play with as well!
Please visit Zebisis and find something you like (so hard, I know) and post about it here. I will be drawing for this next week, so you have time to really click on every listing in her shop. Be sure and leave a way for me to find you, should you be the lucky commenter! I will count your tweets, blogposts, forum shout outs etc as double entries!
Thank you so much Zebisis Designs for your contribution to the Phat Fiber box, and for generally, being awesome.

  3. I've been ogling her shop for several weeks now and each time I visit I fall in love with a different spindle and different fiber. I know I can't spin merino and seriously wish I'd gotten some of her samples in my March box so I knew if I could spin one of the 50/50 blends (merino/silk, bamboo/merino, merino/cashmere). This is exactly why the box is so important!!! Cuz I can't spin everything that's out there and I need to test it before I buy more!!

Today I am in love with the Red Brazilian Agate spindle.

  7. The Red Brazillian Agate Stone Top Whorl Drop Spindle with Gold Filled Hook is just what I need to replace my handmade spindle with double CD whorl. This is absolutely GORGEOUS. Maybe I could just hang it on the wall for decoration? Oh, I really do like this one.

Headed to my blog now to blog about it and wish and oooh and ahh. And drool.

  8. I did serious damage to my budget here, only yesterday. I bought the Rainbow Agate spindle with gold wire spiral trim, some Tree of Life silk, and some Twisted Grapevine silk.

Maiysha is a regular, loyal customer of mine, when I have the right dyeables available. That's how we met, got talking about what sorts of spindles she might consider making, etc. Needless to say, she carried it far beyond my wildest expectations, and I am thrilled beyond belief. I'm hoping we can meet in person when I'm in her neck of the woods for a vacation in April.

Oh, and the first spindle she ever listed? I bought it. It's one of those Brazilian fire agates, and so beautiful. I think, even if I had not been a spindler, I would have bought it anyway, as I so wanted to offer encouragement to this lovely lady.

Every time I see a mention of her shop on line, or hear someone mention it in person, I am delighted. She's caught on, in a realm where there is a TON of competition!

    I couldn't be more pleased. :-)

  61. I'm in love with this split drop spindle (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22222314) To me it represents both the joy and frustration I have with spinning. I'm new to the spinning world and have mostly just borrowed spindles from friends. There's a lot of balance involved and so this duality in the stone just represents it so well.

  115. Okay, I had decided that I didn't really like bottom whorl spindles, but I may have to rethink that decision. Both the malachite (I LOVE malachite--and a spindle with it?!) and the green zebra jasper (the stone is awesome, and I adore square spindles) are tempting me oh so much. Especially since I'm taking a workshop on spindling tips and tricks soon.....

  119. I don't even know where to start! I would adore the a Just Spindles membership, or the Clarity Merino/Cashmere top, or the Brazillian agate whorl spindle, but I think the green aventurine whorl spindle is my favorite. Bookmark site, send to husband!
