There are a few samples that come in to HQ I am especially touched by and Dawn of Comfed Out Kaiser has sewn several sachets, cut from one of her grandmother's quilts this month.
I felt it was truly keeping with the Home for the Holidays theme!
When you visit Dawn's shop, the first thing you read is her wonderful introduction:

She is now in physical therapy again after being in physical therapy for 21/2 years for a spiral fracture of her leg and having a rod put in her back. she is sensitive to the cold now. this would be perfect.

My grandmother is moving to Idaho to live with my parents, from Georgia where she's lived for nearly 60 years. The only month it didn't snow this year where my parents live was July. I think my grama might need it. ;)

ReplyDeleteMy mother loves the scarves I knit for her. I would give her this one, as I haven't been able to make her one this year yet. She had surgery two months ago, and the recovery was supposed to be only 4 weeks, yet she is still on bed rest and can't work, with her second infection since the surgery. She is frustrated and feeling a bit hopeless at this point. This scarf would be a perfect thoughtful gift for my mom. And I also love this shopowner's philosophy... very valuable. Thanks for posting.

I would give it to my Aunt Cleo, she is the only aunt that has wore the scarf I made them for Christmas last year.
ReplyDeleteI would send the scarf, with others that I have made, to the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The poverty level is disturbingly high, and warm items are hard to come by. Winter there is long and difficult, and prone to late-season blizzards. That one scarf would mean a lot to a cold child or adult.
