Ahh I've been eager to feature this on the blog!! Diana from Fiber Fancy has sent in a biggie version of her "Earthy" roving for a giveaway! I really adore this fiber alpaca/wool/tencel blend!
It has a really glossy sheen to it, and a bit of 'density' (for lack of a better descriptive!) to it when spun. It's quite drapey as well, and you know I love drape ;) The colors of this particular braid are pretty much perfect- when spun it darkens up quite a bit and really does look "earthy".
Pssst!!! Diana is having some really awesome sales right now in her shop. I am eagerly awaiting my shipment of her Goddess SAL (spin along) to see what surprise she has cooked up for me! With this SAL we got to choose which Greek Goddess we wanted her to card up for us- I took one of those silly online quizzes and came up with Hera and Hestia - can you tell I'm excited!?
Please check out Fiber Fancy today and find something that you love. I'll pick a random commenter this week to give away this beautiful earthy braid to. You can gain extra entries by simply tweeting/facebooking/ravelating about this contest to your friends.
'Mellow Mentos' does *not* make me think of mentos, but the colors *are* gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteWhere's the Party reminds me of Johnny-Jump-Ups and pansies! Spinning up some of the Spicy Brown Mustard would bring some light into this very dreary, rainy spring week, too. And I love Earthy... I wish I was solvent right now so I could buy some of it.
ReplyDeleteRTed, too! @owldaughter

I'm new to this spinning world, but all I can say is that it is a good thing for my family's sake that we are on a tight budget. You have so many beautiful fibres to choose from that I would just buy, buy, buy. I had a hard time choosing just one, but the "Carbonized Bamboo Roving in Asphalt and Dirt" did jump out at me. Good luck with your store.
ReplyDeleteI love the Handspun Merino in My Sweetest Valentine.
ReplyDeleteIt is much brighter than I would normally choose but the moment I saw it my mouth watered at the thought of summer berries that invaded my mind.
