Gale's Art Tussah Silk Giveaway!

Ah the rain we had earlier in the week has cooled us off and things are so fresh and spring like around here again. I don't know which is prettier, the warm glow of a spring morning or the soft luminescence of this tussah silk from Gale's Art!

I always find great inspiration while looking at Gale's Art. I can't put my finger on it, but her colors have a certain "signature" that is unique to her. I consider this a very much desired feature when I buy hand dyes. I like to look through my stash and though the tag/label may be hidden I know immediately where this fiber/yarn came from.

I have so much fun using Gale's Art. I know whomever gets this beautiful 2 oz of tussah silk wrapped in a hand dyed silk kerchief, will also know the same joy! Please visit Gale's Art, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. We'll be drawing for a winner on Friday, so please help yourself by letting everyone else know about how wonderful Gale is on twitter, facebook, ravelry etc.

  3. Oh, Gale knows how addicted I am to her gorgeous colors! I keep coming back for more...

Actually, my current favorite isn't listed in the shop right now: Moldy Pumpkin fiber. It's probably all for the best -- if she listed several I'm afraid I'd have to buy them. ;)

  6. Gale's work is SO beautiful. I have the good fortune of spinning with her locally (when she's not galavanting around shows). I'm looking forward to the next carding party and getting to see even more of her work.

You're right - her colors are quite distinctive and I LOVE the brights. Her silk hankies are one of my favorites.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  37. I, too, love the Velvet Elvis. Yes, her colors are gorgeous! Though, I gotta say, I just adore anything where humor and whimsy are involved. How she came by the influence for the title of the colorway is very funny! Ya know, you could do a whole series of fibers based on Elvis' costumes alone?!
(Speaking of...today's word veri is "dizar"..doncha love it!)

  60. I think it's the color values, she is not afraid to overdye brown and grey fibers and that gives her stuff a characteristic look that other dyers don't have because she brings the concept of color values, not jus hues, into all her dyeing. I'm especially fond of the "deep blue" roving but I love silk and would love having that too.

Years ago I used a lot of blue - that color would have attracted me whether I was looking for clothes, yarn or something else. Then I sort of took a break and explored a lot of other colors. But now I find myself noticing blues again and the Velvet Elvis roving catches my eye. But so does the Cherry Blossom sock yarn. I'd definitely like to get my hands on that!
