I've mentioned before that one of my most favorite things to do with Phat Fiber is introduce you all to a fresh face with lots of potential! Jessicah from Spinning a Yarn lives and creates in New Zealand and is just beginning her journey as a fiber enabler :)
I get really excited when I see fiber dyed the way Jessicah has done- this graduated colorway because your spinning options really open up! You could spin the whole thing up a one long single and then ply it back on itself so that the colors mesh together, or you could Navajo ply it and retain the color transition - it just makes spinning really fun!
Please visit Spinning a Yarn today and pick out something you like. I can't tell you how important it is for new fiber folks to hear what you think! We'll be giving away this gorgeous NZ Merino to a lucky commenter this week, so be sure and help Jessicah out by using twitter, facebook, ravelry etc and spread the word! Also don't be afraid to convo this sweet woman with dye requests most all of our Phatties love it when you do that!
Oh, if you have time, check out Jessicah's blog: http://spinningayarnblog.blogspot.com/ too.
I decided I could live without the Tuscan Sunset or the Forest in Tussah silk. Absolutely gorgeous.

Obviously this shop is a winner because she's almost completely sold out. I may be responsible for some of that-I bought the last of the merino because I'm a total sucker for purple and yellow together. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWell seems I'm slow because she is nearly cleared out! Looked in the sold items and I like the summer elm colorway.
ReplyDeleteI like the Tussah Silk Sliver in Midnight. Just noticed I don't have very much blue fiber!

ReplyDeleteOK, so I'm a day late to the party and it seems that everyone here bought up her shop! Doesn't seem to be anything in there...well, 3 items in the tussah silk.
ReplyDeleteI do like those colors, though I think the wool being given away for this one has a very interesting colorway!
Hmmm, maybe she could adopt me so I can live in NZ and play with the fiber there?!
I'm almost too late -- only three items left in her shop! Congratulations on all the sales, I suspect you're busily dyeing right now...
ReplyDeleteAll three items are lovely, but I have to say that the Midnight silk is absolutely gorgeous!
