North Star Alpacas Blossoms and Bark Fiber Giveaway!

This past month, Maple of NorthStarAlpacas sent in the most beautiful fiber and yarn! I had a special treat and was able to spin this 'blossoms and bark' roving into a beautifully textural 2 ply which I knit into a Vertex right away because I loved it so much! This is one of those 'kitchen sink' fibers where everything but the kitchen sink is in there- except when it comes from someone like Maple who raises Alpacas and appreciates fine fiber her everything is so delightful!

This fiber contains Alpaca, merino, silk, cashmere, milk fiber, angora and angelina! Here is what Maple had to say about it:
"This fiber is a blend of many fibers that I have collected over the last few years. I sent it all to Pufpaff's mill where Suzanne prepared it into this lovely roving. Each sample is different and will spin into an awesome, slubby, arty yarn. I hope that you enjoy it.- Maple"

I want to encourage you to visit NorthStarAlpacas today and go shopping- let us know what you like in the comments section below and we'll draw from those comments later in the week for this 5 oz pack of fiber- more than enough to make your own shawl! Be sure and use twitter, facebook and ravelry to help spread the good word about Maple's shop- we'll reward you with extra entries!

  32. I posted a comment early this morning and it seems to have disappeared. I wanted to say that I bought a bunch of the Swirled Roving with Dark Fawn, Black and Light Fawn and it's absolutely delightful. I want to get some of her Alpaca, silk and angora roving to spin and some of her baby alpaca/bamboo roving. I want it all! And Maple always sends those lovely scented sachets in her fiber - they are almost as good as the fiber itself. There isn't a nicer person selling alpaca than Maple - she's a pleasure to deal with always.
