Gales Art BFL giveaway!

Earlier today, I was finishing up an experiment- just how many oz of fiber can I fit on one standard majacraft bobbin while still being able to spin? Answer: just under 8 oz worsted weight 2ply BFL from Gales Art. While I was spinning this fiber, I kept wishing everyone knew just how soft and awesome Gale's bfl is.. I know you're thinking wow, bfl. It's not like it's alpaca or silk or something super luxurious, but I gotta tell you, Gales Art BFL is some seriously soft stuff!

I love how I can just take off and spin it too- if you're a new spinner and have not yet tried bfl, you'll be amazed at how easy it is for you to spin- it's so fun!

Anyway, we're giving away 2 of these braids to a lucky commenter! Why only 2? Because Gale donated one of them for our Gulf Oil Spill Relief box. But, the other 2 are all for you! Just visit Gales Art, find something you love, write about it in the comments section below and we'll be drawing a name later in the week. Be sure and leave an identifying mark and remember we'll count those extra social network pings as entries too!

  1. I would love to win those beautiful fiber bundles, but gale seems to have closed her shop for the moment. What a shame.

Though, I was cruising through ehr sold items and they are gorgeous.... particularly her tussah silk roving in 'Seaweed'

    Oh well, maybe next time!

  2. Browsing her past sales, I am just astounded by all the beautiful colors. If forced at needlepoint to chose a favorite, I'd have to vote for the opal colorway.

  3. What a shame she's on vacation just now. Her products really are beautiful. I think I'd have to say my favorite of her past sales is the Grape Vine alpaca/silk roving here: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/28277126
