When Shannon of SparkleShan sent this beautiful handspun in for a giveaway, I had this quote come to me after trying to place why this yarn seemed so familiar to me. And, to not only see a flower, but to capture its essence in art-yarn form takes a rare natural talent. See, me being not so talented, would have probably tried to spin this fiber super thin to convey the delicateness of a flower, but my yarn would probably only have become rigid and tense. Shannon saw through to the blossom's true form - soft, petal-like, organic, flowing and spun a thread plied uber-soft bulky yarn.
Who will receive this beautiful work of art? Who will then choose the perfect pattern for this yarn to "bloom" into it's intended form? Enter the giveaway by visiting Sparkleshan today, find something that speaks to you, write about it in the comments section below and we'll draw for a winner tomorrow! Please remember we will reward social networking about this as extra entries.
I love the Degas handspun - I can totally imagine what I could make with that!
ReplyDeleteI'm usually not big on art yarns, but that Degas handspun totally speaks to me. I love that the baubles are much smaller than what I normally see.
ReplyDeleteI love that its a bulky yarn, always have. Out of all the stuff at SparkleShan I love the "by the Seashore". I lived near the ocean when I was a kid and I think all of the colors in by the Seashore really match what you see. The yellow for the sun and all the shades of blue and purple like remind me of the seashells along the beach and the colors they shimmer in the sun and of course the water.

ReplyDeleteIt has to be the Lotus handspun yarn, right now that is the color combination that fascinates me the most. (The stitch markers are cute too.)
