I have to say, this Steampunk Chessie fiber is AMAZING! It's super soft, deep purple and has a hint of sparkle- and you know how I love my sparkle!
If you haven't visited Friends in Fiber lately, you haven't gotten your recommended dose of the "Spin Free or Dye" ladies and that is a real shame! Let me tell you, Jan and Peg are two talented fiberistas! And because I love you, I'm going to let you know that they have a whole section that is 20% off right now. Tee hee! Aren't you glad you have me watching your back? ;)
We're giving away this gorgeous Steampunk Chessie Batt! Just visit Friends in Fiber, find something that strikes your fancy and write about it in the comments section below. We'll be drawing for a winner later in the week and remember we will award extra entries for helping spread the good word about the Spin Free or Dye gals!

ReplyDeleteI loved the fibers from that store so much that I've added it to my favorites. And the Cranberry BFL is haunting me right now, begging me to buy it. My bank account says I can't afford it till Thursday, but my heart says it's so pretty it will be gone by then. What is a girl to do?!
ReplyDeleteI am already in love with the Angora/Merino/Silk Handspun.. Now if only I could save up enough to knit my boyfriend a sweater from it, I think cuddling up to him this winter would be that much more heavenly. =P

Elegant Eggplant keeps calling my name. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm into purple & glittering & glistening batts (that's the crow in me :) and when I saw the "October [PhF] Alpaca/Silk Batt" I stopped like a Deer in Headlights. Wow! Then I kept looking around and saw the Angora/Cashmere in the Dusky Lavender (drooled over that one); the Angora/Cashmere-"Ruslan on the Moss"--which screams "Spin Me" or at least "Cuddle Up with Me"; Tasha, the WonderBunny's Fawn Angora; and the Needle Felted Eggplant (which my master gardener friend would adore). Congrats to the Friends of Fiber's presentation--especially with the Elegant Eggplant Needle Felted Sampler Pack. Kudos on making me want to stick my hand through the monitor to pick up a batt several times! Also, their clever Design Your Own BFL/Silk Batt. _But_ Hands Down: My favorite was the Handspun Alpaca/Silk Uptown Chessie Oct. PhF. 80/20. Between the over dyeing & the 3-ply, the color play is just amazing. (I know they said 4 colors, but I think there's more--or my monitor needs adjusting :o) What a creative duo of accomplished carders, dyers, and spinners!
ReplyDeleteLove the Angora/Merino/Silk Handspun Laceweight Yarn!

ReplyDeleteI went back to FiF so that I could email my Guild, and sadly some one scooped up that luscious ultra purple/eggplant batt. Rats! But there's plenty for any guild member to buy--and time for me to get something asap! Thanks Jessie for the HINT; because I get so busy, I sometimes forget to respond to the business cards & samples that take my breath away.
