Have you wanted to try dyeing fiber, but the term "acid dye" scares you a little? Did you know you can use Kool Aid?! Ann of Color Bug Yarns has put together a lovely kool aid dye kit in her shop- almost everything you need to get started, complete with instructions. This is safe enough to use with kids (just don't drink the Kool Aid!) and as easy as dyeing Easter eggs!!
I absolutely love Color Bug Yarns. Ann's colorways are intense, joyful, and she uses really lovely bases for her work. Every time Ann comes up with a new colorway, I say to myself- yes! That is my favorite! So, they're all my favorite.
But, I'm going to make it difficult for you here, I want you to visit Color Bug Yarns, find one thing you really love, and write about it in the comments section below. We'll draw for a winner of this Kool Aid Dyed braid of merino, later in the week. Be sure and use Facebook and Twitter and let everyone know about Color Bug Yarns for extra entries!

ReplyDeleteI recently bought a braid of corriedale in Colorbug's "Koi" and that was a full-stop winner for me in terms of color combinations. In addition to that being my favorite,it's a toss-up between the maritime and koi sock yarns. Something about aqua and orange make me happy. She ALSO has fantastic customer service.
ReplyDeleteThat WAS tough, but I'm going to pick the Beautiful Butterfly sock yarn. Because it's ERIC CARLE inspired!!! :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteAlphabatt and Chandelier are beautiful batts!

ReplyDeleteI love the bfl superwash, midsummer night's dream! Wow, the intensity of the blues and greens is just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely am in LOVE with the A beautiful butterfly sock yarn. It reminds me of the story of Noah in the bible and how, after the flood, God said that the rainbow was a promise that he would never again flood the world.
ReplyDeleteRainbows are my favorite colors because of this part of the bible and because they are beautiful and amazing. Every time I see a rainbow I make my husband stop so I take photos and post them to my photobucket and share them with my family and friends. The last one was amazing. It stood straight up into the air and disappeared into a cloud. Absolutely amazing! I can't wait to post it to show my mother :)
