ReplyDeleteThe WC Mercantile is a wonderful, cozy, shop. If you get the chance, you should definitely go! They very recently got me started on the drop spindle and I hope to own a wheel soon because I can't get enough! Would love to try my hand at spinning bfl/tussah!

ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite item was the sampler of non-wool fibers I bought last year, but I'm also pretty fond of the "Aggie" dyed Merino. It spun up to a lovely squooshy 2 ply worsted weight, and will be part of a hat for my husband (class of '09!). I love the color so much I will be ordering more for me someday too!

ReplyDeleteWell, I am on quite a natural color kick, so I'd go for the black BFL top, which is more of a warm gray/brown. And, you know, if money were no object, I'd have to go for one of the smaller, portable spinning wheels, like the Ashford Joy or the Schacht Ladybug!
