Today I woke up and it was so nice and cool outside, it got me all excited thinking about how wonderful it would be to start wearing hand knits. Hats especially. There really is nothing like wearing your hand knit hat out for the first time in Autumn. Everything seems right with the world.
We're giving away this gorgeous chunky weight yarn from Shades of Light today. I am thinking this skein would make an excellent knit hat, and the thickness of the yarn means you could have it done in less than a day.
Shades of Light is just bursting with beautiful yarnness. Angelika has organized her shop by yarn weight, and if you are looking for this lovely chunky yarn- look under the "London" category.
Please visit Shades of Light today, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. Before we draw for a winner, we'll be counting those social networking pings- twitter, facebook, ravelry, pinterest etc as extra entries!

I am drooling over all the red-orange-yellow tones, and I want them all, but the colour 62 in particular. Aran weight is really good for quick projects too, and we all need those for Christmas.

I knit hats for charity - Delaware Head Huggers. "We collect handmade hats for patients undergoing chemotherapy and for those recovering from brain surgery and burns. We are in need of all sizes, colors and styles of hats. If you knit, crochet or sew, please join us." One skein is perfect. And I can't imagine how soft the alpaca/silk blend must feel. The Sand colors are all soothing though sometimes zing is what one needs to help get through a difficult period. Beautiful colors all!!
