Smoky Mountain Fiber Giveaway!

I do apologize for not posting for a couple of days. My little family was involved in a car accident on Saturday and though there were no broken bones, we're all a little tender to the touch and trying to rest easy.

I was thrilled to see Anne Marie of Smoky Mountain Fiber arts in our last box. Her element was "fire" can you tell? She sent in some beautifully hand painted merino and some luxuriously soft mohair locks for everyone to experience! You know, I just love the shiny mohair locks! I admit though, I have never tried an exciting "tailspun" art yarn with them- this is something I must try! The locks I spin are usually carded in with other fibers in batt form- which make for a deliciously silken sheen that adds strength and warmth to a yarn.

Visit Smoky Mountain Fibers and get your fiber fix on! We're giving away a full 2 oz size of her fire colorway- just let us know which one of Anne Marie's listings has really caught your eye! Write about it in the comments section below, and we'll draw for a winner later in the week. Make sure you twitter, facebook, ravelate etc about this contest to get extra entries. We really appreciate you helping us get the word out about how awesome Smokey Mountain Fibers is!

I looked through the whole shop but I must say that the Beach Glass - Hand Dyed Mohair Locks - 3 ounces kept catching my eye. The colors are wonderful!

Glad to hear there were no broken bones, but still, take it easy! Bruising is no fun, either.

Honestly, the fire colorway is definitely my favorite. I'm a fire girl myself, and gravitate towards warm reds, oranges and yellows. Nom.

Smoky Mountain Fibers is responsible for getting me on the felting bandwagon...responsible for me finding my "place", and for that I am grateful. I love the Beach Glass locks, the Fire locks, and the weaving yarns destashes-the blues and earth tones. SMF is ROCKING in my book!

Glad no one was hurt too badly. Usually it's the psychological shock that's more alarming than the physical, but time heals all things.

not only are her hand-dyed rovings/tops beautiful...she, also, carries felting supplies! I think the 'fire' colorway would look wonderful in something felted I have planned...ahem, HINT!

Since I've just gotten into dyeing some of my own stuff, as well...I really appreciate that Smoky Mountain Fibers carries decent natural roving at affordable prices. I'll definately be purchasing some of that in the near future!

Hey, these prices are great! What a bargain for naturally-pigmented roving by the pound! If I were to go for the dyed stuff, Mercury is my favorite. It's a lovely purple mix.
