Waterloo Wools giveaway!



Day 2 off sugar and my brain is throbbing! If any of you are in the same boat as I am, I will tell you knitting and spinning do help!!

Today's featured Phatties is Waterloo Wools from Canada! Lindsey sent in some marvelously dyed yarn for December's box! She is a fiber artist of many facets- just check out her shop! Lots beautifully hand dyed yarns, spinning fibers, handspun and even completed woven projects!

Lindsey has very generously sent in this beautiful fiber braid for a giveaway! This 4 oz of Merino is a deep undulating scarlet with hints of dark plum.   4. I'm intrigued by the Five Plum Pie handspun yarn, the combination of colors works really well. I could list several of the other handspuns too. And then there is the Boy or Girl Batts with Merino, BFL and Samoyed fibers ... I'd really like to try that.

  30. I just loved the seafoam roving and the fuzzy navel batts on waterloo wools page. the peachy batts just looked so warm and cuddly. and I adore the bles and greens in the seafoam colorway.

  33. Wow! Her colors are amazing! I love the deep reds of that braid. The algonquin fingering yarn really is calling my name . . . so is the Beach Sunrise sock yarn (I do love the beach, sunset or sunrise).

  35. I really like those 8 Crazy Nights batts. I also quite liked the colors of the Boy or Girl batts, and was quite surprised to see samoyed in the fiber content! Good job! The woven scarves look lovely, too.

  49. I really love the Five Plum Pie Handspun Yarn! It looks so soft & squishy and oh my, what a gorgeous colorway! There is some really beautiful fiber in this shop.

  50. The handspun worsted in Sour Fig is so very, very wonderful. I would buy it except that I have a spinning wheel on its way to me. Maybe someday I will spin something as lovely as that.

  52. I immediately saw the Algonquin Hand Dyed Fingering Weight Yarn - Song of the Sea and got homesick. The coloring reminded me of Key West where I was born and my family home for 6 generations. I could look at thies color forever!

  61. BFL Spinning Fiber - Trick or Treat

    This sample caught my eye because today (Jan 6) is the day for King Cake! This just needs some green (I got some from my Secret Santa!) to be perfect for the season! I may have to knit in a trinket to be completely authentic.

  77. I think I'm going to have to pick the Superwash Blue-Faced Leicester spinning fiber in Seafoam for my personal favorite. I've been wanting to give BFL a try, I've used merino until now. 4 oz is a nice size to start out with!
