I am so very excited to be sharing with you a newly discovered shop this past month- Bristleconeart! I know we have quite a few spindle enthusiasts in our group and I have been just itching to tell you all about Chris' beautiful hand-turned spindles and tools.
In August, Chris sent in some gorgeous handmade lampwork glass buttons for the box. They were just amazing little treasures that I hope will entice several of you to make larger purchases from him. I have taken a lampwork bead class before and it's no simple feat to create buttons like those!
We're giving away this gorgeous hand turned Canarywood wpi tool! Just visit Bristleconeart, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. Be sure and leave an identifying mark so that I may track you down if you win! I'll be drawing for a winner in just a day or two!

Unfortunately the site is being updated & is not open to show goodies beyond the front page. This said, there is a fabulous turned seam ripper on the front page that I would love to adopt since I am a seamstress in additon to knitting.
ReplyDeleteWeird, it ate my comment. I love the seam ripper with the blue bead on top - being a seamstress as well as a knitter.

I would really love the 1.8 oz midweight Paduak drop spindle as it would be an excelent change from the lightweight spindle I'm currently using.
ReplyDeleteCan I cheat and say I love it ALL?! Oh my goodness, everything is really so stunning! I really love all those hair sticks too. Ok if I really have to pick a favorite item I'll go with the Goncalo Alves hairstick with Malachite. It is far too short to be able to hold up all my hair but dang if it isn't gorgeous! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat talent! Just looking at all of those beautiful items makes me weak in the knees. The Nostepinne yarn ball winder - Yellowheart with hive and bee decoration makes me giddy!
ReplyDeleteI wanted almost everything - loved ALL of the WPI gauges, the spindles, the orifice hooks - very nearly went for one of them cos I've lost one of mine - but I guess I'd pick the beautiful Paduak spindle - it's a work of art ! Never mind that it's also a practical tool :)
