Comfed Out Kaiser Scarf Giveaway

There are a few samples that come in to HQ I am especially touched by and Dawn of Comfed Out Kaiser has sewn several sachets, cut from one of her grandmother's quilts this month.
I felt it was truly keeping with the Home for the Holidays theme!

When you visit Dawn's shop, the first thing you read is her wonderful introduction:
Comfed Out Kaiser is what I think of as my own perfect little corner of the world. Where everything that is usable gets reused. Where history has a value. Where organic doesn't just mean food. Where everything I do supports my community both local and online.

I love that her shop is not only a place to help support her role as a work at home Mom, but also an expression of her sociological values- a way to use her income to support others.

In this spirit, Dawn would like to give away this beautiful hand-knit wool scarf to a lucky commenter here on the blog. All you need do is tell us who you would give this lovely scarf to! Don't worry about tweeting or retweeting, just take a minute and think about who you would give this piece of handmade goodness to.

Read more about Dawn at her entertaining blog here: http://kaisermommy.com/

Ohhh, I might want to keep it for myself! But I think I might give it to either my mom or my grandma.

I would give it to my sister. She loves scarves, and wears them all the time.

I would give it to my aunt sharon she was just recently in a bad car wreck(other person fault). She is now in physical therapy again after being in physical therapy for 21/2 years for a spiral fracture of her leg and having a rod put in her back. she is sensitive to the cold now. this would be perfect.

My grandmother is moving to Idaho to live with my parents, from Georgia where she's lived for nearly 60 years. The only month it didn't snow this year where my parents live was July. I think my grama might need it. ;)

I would give it to my younger cousin, who is away at college for the first time, and who has had to fight and struggle and overcome things I can't even imagine just to get into school. She's sort of my hero.

This scarf looks so "smooshy" & warm!

I'd give it to Gramma who is always looking for a pretty scarf!

No contest here - I'd give it to Mom who is 94 and spending her first winter in NJ after 30+ years of wintering in Florida.

i would love to give this to my mom's boyfriend (although they have been together near twenty years now). He is a hard worker always doing things for his parents and plows in the winter. So he is out in the elements ...always!

After reading the comments, I am going to change what my original answer was going to be and say I would give it to morgaine24 to give to her aunt Sharon. :)

I would love that as a gift for my grandmother. This is her 91st year in the planet and I hope and pray she enjoys many more...

I would give it to my boyfriend, who gets cold when he travels by plane (and likes to travel light).

My mother loves the scarves I knit for her. I would give her this one, as I haven't been able to make her one this year yet. She had surgery two months ago, and the recovery was supposed to be only 4 weeks, yet she is still on bed rest and can't work, with her second infection since the surgery. She is frustrated and feeling a bit hopeless at this point. This scarf would be a perfect thoughtful gift for my mom. And I also love this shopowner's philosophy... very valuable. Thanks for posting.

I would send it to my friends in Rural Alaska (for whom I've already knit scarves for this year; will be sending them soon) so that they could find someone in their village who needs a nice, warm, wooly scarf to help get them through what's shaping up to be another long, cold winter.

I would give it to my mom. She's had a very hard life and I think she deserves a little piece of luxury for all she's done for me, my sis and everyone around her.

This morning while I was doing some errands around town I turned a corner and found a man seated there and he was playing a celtic harp so wonderfully despite it being quite cold... I think today I'll give it to him

I'd probably also give it to my mother who needs something special.

My daughter is always knitting for others. I think this would be wonderful for her.

I would give it to my husband. He's never gotten a handmade scarf, it always seems I am making one to give to someone else. He cleans our drive and frequently does the neighbors drives as well and comes in frozen. He would be very appreciative.

I would give it to my Aunt Cleo, she is the only aunt that has wore the scarf I made them for Christmas last year.

I would send the scarf, with others that I have made, to the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The poverty level is disturbingly high, and warm items are hard to come by. Winter there is long and difficult, and prone to late-season blizzards. That one scarf would mean a lot to a cold child or adult.

Hubby, he would get it. He does so much for us and I don't thank him enough.

I'd give the lovely scarf to my lovely wife (her birthday is next week) and that way she'd feel me hugging her every winter day when she wears it.
