The Homestead Hobbyist Giveaway

Blue Barn Fiber Giveaway

These are a fun new product from Blue Barn Fiber. These are called Fluff Stacks.

Holly from Blue Barn says: We will have an exciting shop update in a couple of weeks, with a really fun new product line. I don't want to give too much away, but it will be called "Fluff Stacks" and will include some hand dyed firestar, similar to what we sent for the November box (in addition to a lot of other awesome goodies!).

Our Winner! Daniel's campaign update

I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for donating. We are so lucky to have such wonderful customers and contributors. We decided to send Brittany a box because of her wonderful little classes contribution to the cause. They raised $121 for my brother.

Dad has been doing some research and he found a new electric scooter for a lot less than the one he originally purchased. He's more than half way to being able to purchase a new scooter for Daniel. As I write this his campaign is at $906. His new scooter will be $1995 so he only needs to raise $1009 more. That is a lot better than when we started. 

I really appreciate all the warm thoughts and the donations. Like most siblings, my brother drives me a little nuts sometimes, but knowing he won't be stuck at home when there is so much more world to explore is a joy.

Giveaway to benefit my brother.

Hey all,

My brother Daniel has been in a wheelchair since 2005. A few years back my dad bought him an electric scooter to get around town and see the sights. Unfortunately, somebody took his scooter from in front of their apartment recently. I'm trying to help him raise enough money to buy a new one (or maybe a used one!)

I do a lot of giveaways around here because I love to send fibers and yarns to fiber lovers. For this one, I will pick a Phat box from my stash for the winner of this giveaway.

If his campaign goes over $1000, I will pick two winners, $2000 and I will pick three winners, etc. We will close the giveaway on Friday December 2nd at 2pm MDT (Denver Time). Also, I will include extras in the phat boxes. I have sparkly angelina, yarn, and fluff to make the Phat Boxes FATTER & PHATTER!

Our last giveaway of this round is from the Hippie Homemaker. Claire likes to enable those fiber lovers who have yet to dive into spinning from their knitting, crochet, and weaving obsessions. If you've never spun your own yarn, it really is a rewarding and beautiful opportunity to create the exact yarn you're interested in working with.

This spindle is of average beginner weight. That means that you can spin a fairly think yarn with the fluff or if you are a fast learner, spin something finer. If you are a wheel spinner but you've never tried the spindle, this is a good way to start as well. Claire says: "These spindles have a whorl diameter of 3 inches, and are approximately 13 inches long from the hook to the bottom of the spindle."

I'm a terrible person and I forgot to take a photo of the fluff that comes with this spindle. It's a soft green, but we'll let it be mostly a surprise. When you go to her shop, you'll see that any fiber you receive will be gorgeous!

Kitty Mine Crafts Giveaway

Giveaway Tutorial

If you've had trouble entering the giveaways, here's a little "How-To" to help you out. I'm still searching for a better way to do the giveaways. I'd like the process to be more intuitive, but for now, this is the best way to give you multiple chances to win.

Here's the widget on our Luthvarian Fiber Arts Giveaway. To start, click on the title of the blog post. That will put you inside each individual giveaway post.
Here, I entered my Email address and my name in the boxes on the widget, and then I clicked "begin!" This is the link right above Terms & Conditions.

Once I click begin, it offers the Mandatory Entry. This entry is a comment on the blog post that you are trying to enter the contest. All you have to do is go to the shop, find something that you love in the shop, then come back to the blog and comment about what you loved. You would click on "comments" on this post as seen here:

Once you've done that, go back to the widget and below Mandatory, click on "Click to begin" and tell it what name you commented under. It will auto-verify! 

Once the widget has auto-verified your mandatory entry, you will be able to see all the other ways that you can enter. For each entry, the widget will auto-verify each entry.

Luthvarian Fiber Arts Rolag Giveaway

This time, I've got the right entry form with the right giveaway! We've got a perfectly yummy set of rolags from Luthvarian Fiber Arts.  These are the vary same rolags that she sent in for the October Phat Fiber Sampler box. They are titled Vamp, and they are made of Corriedale and silk.

I had the pleasure of spinning up a few of these for our handspun stitches only boxes. The gradient flowed beautifully from the dark red to the dark purple with the soft luscious silk making an appearance now and then along the way. They spun up beautifully, and now I want to see the set spun up.

It looks like there's about 2 oz of rolags here. Spun fine they'd give you more than enough yarn for a warm winter Vamp hat!
