North Star Alpacas Swirl Roving giveaway!

We've been talking alot about new spinners in our group- there are many beginning spinners there. I want to encourage a "newbies" to give spinning alpaca a try, especially if you want to your yarn to be thinner than you are currently spinning.

I especially love the way Maple of North Star Alpacas has her fiber processed into roving. It's really easy to split and draft from! We're giving away this beautiful 3 way swirl of burnt orange, sage and fire red. It should make for some gorgeous spinning!

Please visit NorthStarAlpacas today, find something you love, and come back here and write about it. We will give extra entries to those of you who use facebook/twitter to let everyone know about NorthStarAlpacas. We thank Maple for her generosity!

I just started spinning last summer and I love it! I had been buying wool cause it was cheaper but then I won some alpaca in a giveaway and I loved it! It is way easier to spin thinner with alpaca! I've only spun natural colored alpaca and I really love the orange and teal!

I am a newbie spinner, and would love to have anything from this farm! When I first looked at the page, the first thought I had was "They all look like flowers!" Considering I am in eastern PA, with snow/sleet/ice right now, it was so nice to see! My favorite is this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/64020585/100-percent-handdyed-alpaca-roving-2 It looks like my favorite flower, iris.

I'd stick with a goes-with-everything basic black alpaca roving. I've been looking to spin myself a sweater this year, and I would love to do so out of soft alpaca!
