Yes, this yarn is really as amazing as it looks!! Kama Suutra created a gorgeous "Watermelon Tourmaline" colorway in their magnificent Maya self-striping sock yarn (avaze base pictured). This stuff will blow you away. When you knit in the round at about 55-66 sts you'll get amazing 2 rows of stripes! Magic!
Kama Suutra's colorways and bases will send a shiver of joy down your spine. You don't have to take my word for it.. try some!
We're giving away this gorgeous sock yarn- but we're going to do things a little differently. We would like to know what you would create with it! Rue, the Kama Suutra dye goddess, has included a note in this package saying "Trust the way you express yourself." Tell us what you would create with this sock yarn or any other Kama Suutra yarn. Winners will be announced later this week- tell your friends on FB and twitter about this contest too!

Falling 4 U! Love that jazzed up brown!
It would definitely be socks for ME! I actually enjoy making socks but have only made one pair for myself. I think this yarn is special enough to be selfish with!
I like the Leaf Green SuperSock Optical Tweed.
I love the colors in Avaze Worsted in Evil Genius. It would definitely be a sock -- a yummy pair for me. I woul dput in some slip stitches to make raised columns.
Awesome! I'd make socks for me and one for my daughter (10) she only wears mismatchies
I am totaly in love with the self-striping, and would try gloves to see the different effects with different sizes of circular knitting.
Ooohh, I wonder how entrelac would look?! Or maybe trying a self pooling scarf!>!
This is beautiful! Might be just what I need to knit my first ever pair of socks. For me of course!
Vanilla knee socks for me!! I want to use every inch of that yarn
holy cow - i want to learn how to knit *just* so I can get the Namaste Fingerless Kit - GORGEOUS!!!!
Having just started a pair of socks today out of a watermelon colorway...I would go with Seaglass in Shiva...and I would adapt the Shipwreck Shawl with Beads...from Knitty. Been wanting to make that shawl for a while ...and that Seaglass would be spectacular.
I think Royel Azel in Dharma would make a lovely fingering weight scarflette.
I've been really into fingerless gloves and cowls lately and a bright one would be change :)
amazingly pretty and bright! we are heading into winter here and my daughter would get some fingerless mitts if I won this
I think socks or a small shawl-
Very pretty!
If I had it *right now* I'd knit my first ever pair of socks; toe-up so I can maximize length for the amount of yarn (instead of trying to guess how long they'd be.)
If I got it *after* I started my first ever socks, I'd knit Jaywalkers, because I think they'd be great with the narrow stripes.
<3 the magic carpet and tequila sunrise skeins
I would make the 185 yards of Heaven Shawlette.
I did a beanie style hat for my son in a striping sock yarn. That yarn is calling out for me to knit it into another hat!
OMG! KNEE SOCKS! I love pink and green together!
Tweeted!
Shared this love on facebook!
I think this would make a lovely pair of fingerless mitts. Or maybe my first-ever pair of socks?
I'd really love to see how the colors interact when woven. I think it would make a stunning scarf in plain weave!
I would love to try a pair of socks, and the colors in this yarn would be perfect for my youngest daughter
Oh oh! Twining of a Tree in Devi. Wow.
Oh I'd love to try it out to make some cute toys. Likely a bear or, with spring coming up and those bright colours, a bunny!
I don't know the exact yardage but I'd probably make a scarf.
BTW, I *love* the Tiger's Eye Scarf Kits. If I didn't have so many items on needles and hooks right now, there would be an immediate order!
The colors of the watermelon tourmaline sock yarn's so pretty! I'd love to make it into a Baby Surprise Jacket.
I am currently in love with WRAPOLOGY
by Kristin Omdahl.
I think any of Kama Suutra's colorways would look fabulous in the Infinity pattern.
I could use some more sock yarn! This was a long winter,if next year's has this much snow I am going to need more socks!
Love the Twining of a Tree in Devi Silk/Bamboo/Wool!
love the Falling 4 U!
Twining of a Tree in Devi: Silk/Bamboo/Wool
I like the small spurts of color mixed in with the brown. Fun!
I am not much of a sock person and we don't need warm socks in India, so I would probably make an infant sweater and if that messes up the stripes, then I will make a baby hat or two. The colors are just perfect for baby wears.
I definitely want to knit a pair of socks with self striping yarn, but I also want to knit a pair of those namaste fingerless mitts.
I would make a beautiful breast cancer scarf survivor for my daughter, Who was diagnosed last January. She loves pink and green combinations. If there was enough, or maybe a purchase of some more "Kama Suutra sock yarn to make a matching slouch hat and fingerless mitts to go with the scarf.... Judy

If I had a lot more money than I do have, I'd go for the Kasbah Sparkly Cashmere in Emerald & Peridot. Wow!
Staying within my 'real' budget, I'd choose the Namaste Fingerless Kit.
What an amazing yarn to invoke all those wonderful SPRING feelings. Dusting off the chill, I would make a shawlette/neckerchief with this colorway. I would want it to be lacy and show off all the amazing colors, and I want to be able to wear it through summertime, nothing says hello sunshine like some bright and beautiful yarn. :D
I would make a shawlette for my yoga teacher, who is one of the most awesome women I know. She gives so much of her time and herself and has helped me so much. She loves bright colours - this would be perfect for her
Love the colorway Evil, the Dark Side-would make long fingerless gloves with it.
I love Pink Berries and SeaGlass... such vibrant color!
I love the bright colors and wonder what would happen if you made socks with this yarn striped with black. Black heels & toes, of course!
Do I have to choose just one?? OK then, the Evil Genius Giant Skein would be my favorite!
I meant to say that I would probably create socks (lame, I know), and I would love to create them with the skein mentioned above.
Twitted and FB'd too.
I like the leaf green and berrylicious colorways!
I would make fingerless gloves for myself, because I love the striping idea but I don't knit socks. :)
Jessecreations
I would give this skein to my dear friend Karen, who is always making things for Other People and not for herself. This skein is so her colors, and she's been wanting to learn to knit socks!
I would make sock for me and my goddaughter. We both like ankle socks and she loves when I make her socks that "match" mine(socks made for her out of the same yarn as I made mine). Then with whatever yarn is left over I will make a bunch of my tiny animals.
Gorgeous!
I love love love the Falling 4 U in Shiva Sport/DK! I bet it is amazing when it's knitted up!
I would make a Boneyard Shawl! Or some other Stephen West pattern.
I believe I would be making my baby (15yr old) sister a pair of December Snowfall mitts from this. She would go crazy over it. I would once again still be an epic awesome older sister.
I have been knitting prayer shawls and shawls for other reasons as well and this would add some cheeriness to the shawl.

That yarn needs to be some happy socks. And now I've gone & seen the lovely Peridot lace on their website. Beautiful!
I'd love to make a pair of mittens out of this colorway. Winters are so dark and gloomy, and a bit of color always cheers me up!
I'd make a pair of mittens out of this colourway.
Winters are so dark and gloomy, I need colour to cheer me up! And this is the most cheerful skein I've seen in a while.
Oh, knee socks or leg warmers - love it!
I would make a pair of socks for me.
I would knit up the 198 Yds Shawlette. It would make a teriffic summer accessory! Watermelon...yum!
Definitely make socks with it! I have never used self striping yarn so I would have to do a fairly basic sock pattern, maybe a slipped stitch rib, to highlight the striping. And then I would seek out some more to make a shawl, as I am new to shawls and finding the love for them too!
Tiger's eye scarf kit is really cool!
I would make a cowl so I could wear it everyday and show it off!
Probably something with a little stitch to it, but no so busy that it takes away from the stripes. Maybe just a simple moss stitch or basket weave. OH! Or maybe even a slip stitch here and there!
Oh, I so love it! I would be thrilled to make a pair of socks with this colorway!
I would use a simple ribbed sock pattern that let the yarn speak for itself. Those are gorgeous colors.
Definitely SOCKS for me! I haven't knit any socks yet.
Oooohhh look at the pretty Namaste Fingerless Kit!
I would probably make some nice socks for someone's Christmas or birthday present!
I'm best at making socks and scarves so I'd make one of these, but more likely a scarf, as the yarn seems too good to be used for socks. I'd like everyone see it, not just me:)
Well, magic stripes would be wasted on doll hair, I'd have to get my knitting friend to make me some socks!
The Magic Carpet is incredible

Twining of a tree sock yarn is now in my wish list.

I would first need to learn to knit socks, but I think I'd use it to knit socks for someone else in my life (not sure yet who), as the color isn't really me, although it's a great colorway.
This would feed my new sock obsession perfection. Love it!
I would make my first pair of socks out of that beautiful yarn
Oh, I love the Namaste Fingerless Kit. Maybe if I knit these, it would make me want to go back to yoga class! I do love yoga, but it's hard to get to class near me.
The colors are so gorgeous! I love the Berrylicious yarn
I'm a sucker for watermelon coloring, and these would definitely become a pair of socks for me. Of course, I have small feet, so I'd probably squeek a pair of fingerless mitts out of them too. I'd want to use up every last yard of that yarn on something fabulous.
Socks for me! I recently started a new job where I have to wear a uniform, but I can wear my own socks as long as they're not visible. So I'm working on stocking my sock drawer with the brightest, wildest socks possible. At least I'll have that one little touch of individuality, even if no one else can see it!
OMGosh! That is gorgeous, perfectly named as well! I would love to make a shawlette for summer wear with this. Or a fun pair of socks as close to knee high as yardage would allow for, fun for summer!
Oooh this is pretty! Makes me think of watermelons. I would make a slouchy beret hat. I liked the purple yarn in her shop too. Lovely
I tweeted this. You can view the tweet here: http://twitter.com/#!/kimmyxoxo/status/45597257839546370 I am kimmyxoxo on Twitter and follow you there. :)
I like the Leaf Green SuperSock Optical Tweed
I am not sure what I would be tempted to knit with such loveliness. First thought is a cute baby hat. Love the colors.
GLOVES! That colorway deserves to be shown off, not hidden under shoes.

Ohhh Whoops. Responded incorrectly. I would make socks! I am just learning. The more practice the better!

I can't decide! It would probably be some pretty fingerless mitts. Thanks - the yarn is gorgeous! Debbie in Alaska
I'd knit some socks that take advantage of the striping - I might try Jaywalkers.
I have never used self striping yarn before, but if I had some I think I would have to make a pair of Jaywalker socks, I love what that pattern does with stripes
I would totally use this as contrast in a faux intarsia project, probably hat or finterless mits.
I would make a shawlette or socks. This yarn is yummy!
Ohhh! My son has been asking for "rainbow socks", so I think I'd make him some using the Zombie Socks pattern. He'd love them!

Definitely a pair of lace socks! Wow, they would be stunning! :-)
I would design a toy with it, the colors are wonderful.
Socks for myself in Berrylicious. I have made hundreds of pairs of socks and finally, one pair for me. I so deserve another pair.
Forget socks, I think I'd make a nice shawl or wrap and show off all that color!
I would love to make a baby hat with this yarn! I have been looking for sock yarn so I could use a pattern I found on Ravelry!
Fantastic colourways- I love Evil Genius in Shiva/
I would make socks so I could my gorgeous feet propped up on the sofa as I laying about relaxing after work.

I would make the coolest sock is the whole wide world just for me - I love this yarn!

I guess I should have read the instructions better. I would create a crazy hat for my DIL who loves those colors.
Ooh, this is gorgeous! I would knit preemie hats for the local hospital to liven up the NICU a little.
This would definitely be the incentive to learn to knit toe-up socks...gorgeous colours in the shop...beautiful additions to the stash! A magic carpet ride while knitting!
I would make a wonderful summer scarf to wear that would make me happy and cheery all the time. Have to love the colours!!
