When combined in larger projects, they can be stunning, but even with small ones, there is an element of connectedness one feels with the animal that grew the fiber. I really like Maple's alpaca roving - it's great to spin and makes wonderful yarn to knit. I would love to try some of her hand dyed alpaca and silk roving one day . . .
The Black Magic alpaca/silk blend fiber is so lovely, I don't know whether I want it to spin, or whether I want a bathtub full to luxurate in!

I love everything I've ever gotten from Maple! The Cremasicle batt and the blue alpaca/silk roving are my favorites in her shop right now.
Lately I'm really loving the raw alpaca fleeces. I just bought two from a local supplier and it's fun just to spin straight from the bag without all the processing -- I have some lovely rustic alpaca yarn now. Yum!

I WANTS the black cherry alpaca. Wants. I have to say - I love the way Maple packages her rovings in loose loops rather than braids or chains - it's so easy to just spin right out of the shipping envelope! (I speak from much experience!) KT
While I agree with what you said about roving and yarn in their undyed natural state...the Saphire baby alpaca yarn just jumped off the monitor at me. Love that color.

Note to self...I want a llama, they have the cutest faces! But for starters, the white crimped alpaca would do me fine. I've not seen crimped before, would love to see a project that uses it.
I really love the suri fleece but am tempted by the corrie x & alpaca socks that were done by Zeilinger. they look so cozy!

I have bought from NorthStar Alpacas before and it is gorgeous and wonderful to spin. Plus it smells good. I love the 100% alpaca roving in all of the colors.
