Maine Cottage Creations Silk/Merino and Hairstick giveaway!

Big announcement! Extreme Spinning has changed names to Maine Cottage Creations! Under their new name, CJ and her husband Brian will be offering up more than just fiber and yarn- starting with gorgeous hand crafted shawl pins/hairsticks! Some of you received a lucky stick in your box. I had to order one for myself it was so enchanting to hold them in my hands!

Yesterday, Maine Cottage Creations introduced new wooden yarn bowls to the shop. I am trying to figure a way to let Marcus know I would really enjoy getting one for Valentine's Day :) There is talk of listing more soon, so we may have lots to choose from shortly!

We're giving away this gorgeous 50/50 Merino/Silk brick in "Wedding Dress" today! Please visit Maine Cottage Creations, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. We will be counting social networking pings, facebook, twitter, plurk (I pinned something from this shop just yesterday on Pinterest!) as extra entries.

CJ (and Mr. CJ!) have such beautiful things. The new yarn bowls are gorgeous, on of the shawl pins is already on its way to me (but another would always find a home!), but I really have my eye on the
Wool Silk Spinning Batt 'AU NATURALE' Brown and Cream Finn, Cashmere, Cormo, Merino, Shetland, Romney Lamb, Silk, Milk Fiber. This one is calling to me...

Besides the bowl and shawlpins, I'm loving the organic merino in hydrangea. Gorgeous stuff!

I love the simple hair stick/shawl pins. I doubt my hair is long enough now, but I used to hold it up with a pen when I was working. A pretty stick would be so much more grown-up.

Um, I'm seriously in love with the tail-spun blue and gold yarn!!!

I find myself needing bright colors to spin this winter - so the CITRUS merino/silk is really speaking to me! I also like the DA SEA merino. What can I say, I'm a greens & blues kind of girl.

Mandii said...

I'm looking through all of them and I still think my favorite is the silk/merino brick in Wedding Dress. Would love to spin it up to make a shawl for my wedding day this summer :)

I really like the XSive Art Batt 3.9 oz HEART ME Sparkle Textured Batt in Red, Green, Pink.

Oh, Lordy. How much do I want that natural batt of mixed fibers? ("Au Naturale")

Silk, wool, dark, light....

AMAZEBALLS.

I would take the organic merino in turqois, blue and green and card it with the milk fiber in the same colorway. That would be a fantastic scarf, wrap, etc. Yummy!!!

I like their shop. That wedding dress sample I got was divine, I would love a full size. I was also thinking today that a new cutting board would be nice. A fiber shop that sells cutting boards? Amazing. Pinning counts? Really?!

The Au naturale Wool Silk Spinning batt with like a zillion different fibers in it seems like it would be quite an interesting spin.

Doris said...

I adore the bowls and crave the XS batt, but broke the fiber diet to order the brick of "Wedding Dress" to make a wedding shawl for my future daughter-in-law. My son is getting married this fall and I have been looking for just the right yarn to knit her a shawl. When I saw the fiber here, I thought, if I am lucky enough to win the give-away I will make a bigger shawl, but if not, I had better order while there is some there!

Nikki said...

Everything in the shop is drool-worthy, but the bowl is definitely my new favorite!
