Tour de Fleece and Spinning Shoes
I wanted to let all of you know, sign ups for Tour de Fleece Team Phat are already open! You can visit this thread: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/phat-fiber-sampler-box/1141485/1-25 and let us know you would like to participate. We've already got some great team-specific prizes rolling in and I'll certainly be giving away a Phat Fiber box!
I think I have discovered a shoe fit for spinners! If you have not yet seen the Vibram Five Finger shoes, and you like to walk bearfoot without the hazards of injuring your feet on various surfaces I am going to suggest you check it out. On a sunny 80 degree day, I like to take Meadow outside for a spin and decided to try her out with these shoes on. I don't like spinning with shoes on as my feet seem "heavy" on the treadle- but not with these! Because you can move those toes independent of each other, if feels as if you have the same 'control' as you do wearing socks or bearfoot. Anyway, just thought I'd share my little discovery with you- and excuse my blinding white feet lol!

I tried the Vibrams on in a store last summer and was horrible dismayed. Because my toes do not slope down toward my pinky toe and are nearly the same length across, I could not wear the Vibrams without causing a lot of discomfort in half of my toes. :( As you can tell, I am still a bit bitter about this because otherwise the shoes were great and I totally loved the idea of being barefoot without being barefoot. :(
i want to try those now i have another reason if i every start spinning with a wheel or a kick-spindle.....
I had a client walk in with those shoes the other day. Coolest things I have ever saw!
Interesting. I just read an article on lifehacker that talked about wearing those type of shoes for people who like to run barefoot.
My DH is getting one of those. He love to walk barefooted and these shoes are perfect for him. He fell in love with them when a client walked into his gallery and next day we run to the city to get a pair. Unfortunately they all sold out fast!
