Ahh I've been eager to feature this on the blog!! Diana from Fiber Fancy has sent in a biggie version of her "Earthy" roving for a giveaway! I really adore this fiber alpaca/wool/tencel blend!
It has a really glossy sheen to it, and a bit of 'density' (for lack of a better descriptive!) to it when spun. It's quite drapey as well, and you know I love drape ;) The colors of this particular braid are pretty much perfect- when spun it darkens up quite a bit and really does look "earthy".

Wow, that is so gorgeous, and so is everything in her shop! I would love to try Playing in the Kettle - Punta Wool Combed Top. It's so pretty and I've never tried spinning Punta before. I love trying new fibers :)
Where's the Party reminds me of Johnny-Jump-Ups and pansies! Spinning up some of the Spicy Brown Mustard would bring some light into this very dreary, rainy spring week, too. And I love Earthy... I wish I was solvent right now so I could buy some of it.

I love looking at Fiber Fancy! She has the most beautiful dyed rovings and is such a temptress. LOL.
I am always smitten by her Playing in the Kettle listings. I am really liking the "Summer Fun" falkland wool combed top roving. VERY pretty.
Also I think there newest SAL is genius. I want to play in her kettle I am just practicing restraint for the time being... how long that will last, it is to early to tell. lol.
I'm new to this spinning world, but all I can say is that it is a good thing for my family's sake that we are on a tight budget. You have so many beautiful fibres to choose from that I would just buy, buy, buy. I had a hard time choosing just one, but the "Carbonized Bamboo Roving in Asphalt and Dirt" did jump out at me. OMG, where to start. There are so many that I like, how do I pick just one. Grape Streak is just gorgeous, but Jelly beans does remind me of being a kid plunging my hand into a bowl of jelly beans. That is one talented lady.

It is really not hard to find something I like at Fiber Fancy!! Right now, thinking of spring the Playing in the Kettle with Lavendar and Mint is awesome.
The colors looks incredibily complex, yet soft at the same time. Just in time for Easter, the Jelly Beans roving is fabulous!

There are all sorts of yummies over in the shop but the Carded and Hand Pulled Superwash and Carbonized Bamboo Roving in the Asphalt and Dirt colours is just gorgeous (along with being sa very fun name).
I am eyeing the Mulberry Silk Sliver in Trio of Toppings. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to resist...

Ooo, the Garden Planning roving makes me want to go digging in the dirt, even though we're still over a month away from safe planting.

On the other end of the spectrum, I love the vibrancy of Roasted Peppers.
The Falkland in "Pushing Spring" is so sweet looking. I can definitely imagine spinning that up for my daughter :)

I just bought my first drop spindle this past weekend and am slowly learning the technique. What a great color to add to my beginning roving stash!
I like the punta roving in sandstone. The color's pretty and the fiber doesn't look too complicated to deal with.

The mulberry silk in Almost Sage is beautiful, and I love how she offers the Playing in the Kettle! I love the roving in Bag of Jellybeans! I have to resist the urge to spend my whole paycheck on her rovings!

I really love all of Fiber Fancy's rainbow rovings - from earthy to bright! I bought and spun two earthy rainbows and gave the resulting yarn to my sister who knit a lovely shawl to wear in the hospital while she had breast cancer removal surgery. Very special rovings . . .
