Light Brown Hare Fiber Giveaway!
Yay! One of my favorite yarnies is now dyeing fiber! This makes a lot of sense to me, even though she's not a spinner- Yet! ;)
I gifted some Light Brown Hare yarn in a swap recently and my partner was completely thrilled with it! I mean, who wouldn't be? There is just about every color you could want and Dale's bases are wonderful. I have this skein of arctic hare that I am hoarding- it's a beautiful green/gray mmm. As you'll remember, I used Light Brown Hare's Jackelope base for my Witch of Pungo Shawl. In summary, I love Light Brown Hare and I can't wait to start using her fiber too ;)
We're giving away this beautiful leaf green corriedale roving to a lucky commenter! Just visit Light Brown Hare, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. You've got to be quick because we're drawing for a winner tomorrow! We'll count social networking pings as extra entries :)

Farmgirl Chic Fall Gourds Giveaway!
So, I'm really feeling this crisp air in the morning! Just a couple of weeks ago, we were really suffering here with mid to upper 90 degree weather- boo! Now, I can see my breath when I walk outside at dawn! When the weather is nicer, I think folks are able to think better. For example, this morning while sipping my coffee, I realized how inexpensive a fiber addiction can really be. Why are you laughing? Really, think about it- let's say I can spin 4 oz of fiber in a weekend. If we take fiber from Farmgirlchic, and add up 4 oz of this beautiful fall gourds fiber, that comes out to $16- plus probably $3 shipping so let's say $19. That's under $20. I can't take my husband out to eat for under $20 and that lasts an hour at best. In fact, I can't go to a movie with someone for under $20 - well maybe if I carry a big giant mexican straw purse and smuggle drinks and popcorn in- but how can you feel good about that? In the case of this Fall Gourds Fiber, you'll need to spend a little time prepping it or at least planning how to spin it too. The fiber will encourage you to stay home and spin instead of going to the mall or wherever, to shop too. Also, you'll need to stay home and cook because you can spin a little while the pasta noodles are boiling. $20 for the weekend and you have yarn afterward to make into a gift- which will negate the $20 spent in the first place. I think I'll call in to Dave Ramsey and explain to him how if everyone would just get into fiber crafting, it would help get them out of debt.
While I do that, please visit FarmgirlChic, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. We'll draw for this Fall Gourds Fiber winner on Friday, so be quick like and make sure you retweet/FB/ravelate etc to help Melissa out!

Texas Alpaca Fiber Mixed Giveaway!
I'm so very excited about this blog post! When I was giving a workshop in at WCMercantile in Navasota Texas, I was introduced to Laurence of Blubonnet Hills Ranch. Laurence was one of the first 4 ranches to bring Alpacas to the state of Texas and now has a lovely herd of 85! While Bluebonnet Hills/ Texas Alpaca Fiber has been perfecting their fleeces since 1997, they're new to our Etsy world and I hope we can all show them support!
Of course, I snatched some of this gorgeous bay/black alpaca millspun while I was down there, and I intend to make a shawl (of course!) with it. Mmm so lofty and warm!
We're giving away this beautiful mixed alpaca roving- what a beautiful tweedy/marbled yarn this would make! Just visit Texas Alpaca Fiber (easy to remember, huh?) and find something you love, write about it here in the comments section and we'll be drawing for a winner in a couple of days. We'd so appreciate it, if you would also twitter/facebook/plurk/ravelate about Texas Alpaca Fiber as they are so brand new, it would really help out! WCMercantile bfl/silk mixed berries giveaway!
This BFL/tussah silk is amazing! It's so soft and Stephanie of WCMercantile has dyed these colors to perfection. Our theme as you know for September is Farmer's Market- these are Stephanie's interpretation of mixed berries and oooh I could just eat them! I love the dark jewel tones in fall, they transition to winter really well.
When Stephanie sent these in, she suggested one could hold two or three of these colors together and draft them together creating a barber pole effect. I think that would be really neat to try- you can see her list grab bags every once in a while, or convo her about creating one just for you.
We're giving away this beautiful 3 oz collection today! Just visit WCMercantile, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. We'll count extra tweets, facebook updates, blog posts etc as extra entries for helping spread the good word about WCMercantile!

Colorbug Yarns BFL giveaway!
I can't tell you how excited I am that Ann from Colorbugyarns is now dyeing and stocking super soft BFL! I just love bfl- when I want a nice traditional 2 ply yarn (or single) that will hold up well when knitting and wearing, I gravitate toward this type of wool. The longer staple makes it easier to spin for beginners too- so if you haven't tried it yet, you really should!
And who could resist the utter happiness that is Colorbugyarns colorways?! This giveaway color is called Gladiolus and it's so cheery and beautiful, I hope it will become a staple in her shop. Looks like someone just snatched up the braid Ann just listed, but please convo her, as I know she'll be happy to create more!
Visit Colorbugyarns today, find something you love, and write about it in the comments section below. We'll be giving away this Gladiolus BFL braid away later in the week. Remember we reward those social networking pings!

Handspun Thread Club membership giveaway!
We've got another brand new Phattie contributor this month- Liz from Dragonflylotusdesigns!
You know, this could be the beginning of a wonderful new fibery addiction (cough) ahem, passion for some of you! Embroidery using handspun thread produces some amazing and distinctive results!
One of the things I love about embroidery is that it is simple to learn, but the projects you can do are only limited to your imagination. Liz turned us all on to Biscornu in the rav group, and I can totally see myself stitching a few of these up!
Please visit Liz's beautiful artfire shop and let us all know what you think of her threads. Your feedback here will net you an entry to win a one month thread club membership for October. As always, we'll reward those of you who twitter, facebook, plurk or blog about the giveaway too!

I am so excited to feature Out of Step Dyeworks today! I am just filled with yarn admiration for this lovely blood-red skein of BFL Aran yarn dyed by the lovely and talented Amy Klimt. This is the most beautiful red, I think- one that is so dark and rich, it's almost a cool color!
For August, Amy dyed the most interesting "Mantilla" colorways! I just loved the color combination, it just isn't everyday you see a lime green/ turquoise and grey and black and brown all in the same skein- amazing!
