Handspun Thread Club membership giveaway!

We've got another brand new Phattie contributor this month- Liz from Dragonflylotusdesigns!
You know, this could be the beginning of a wonderful new fibery addiction (cough) ahem, passion for some of you! Embroidery using handspun thread produces some amazing and distinctive results!

One of the things I love about embroidery is that it is simple to learn, but the projects you can do are only limited to your imagination. Liz turned us all on to Biscornu in the rav group, and I can totally see myself stitching a few of these up!

Please visit Liz's beautiful artfire shop and let us all know what you think of her threads. Your feedback here will net you an entry to win a one month thread club membership for October. As always, we'll reward those of you who twitter, facebook, plurk or blog about the giveaway too!

There are so many beautiful threads in her shop, but the ones that called to me where: summer nights, teal and amethyst Lotus.

Wow! Some really cool stuff in there! I may have to pick up a skein for my friend who does thread stuff ... Oooooor I could embroider dragon scales on one of my scant pieces of quilting ... I think my favorite will have to be Lavender Hedgerow! Though Epping Forest and Rosebud in the Snow were close contenders.

I love the way she places them in the wooden bowl for the photo. It is a nice way to absorb light. I cannot imagine using these lovely yarns for such fine work, but Hey! people did this long before the Industrial Revolution. It makes one appreciate what people had to do to get those lovely needlework pieces that are in museums now.

Those are all lovely but I think Rosebud in the Snow is my favorite. For now. I may change my mind in a few minutes. :p

I love the idea of doing some couching or embroidery with variegated thread like the Sunflower Sampler or Spice Trade. Couching would be a great way to show off the colors!

Wow! Those are really gorgeous enough I may have to take up embroidery. I especially love Blossoms and Lavender Hedgerow. What a great idea!

What a neat idea! It's hard to choose a favorite, but I do like the Blossoms colorway since I seem to be leaning towards pinks recently.

Ok, I'll come clean, I admit that I have a past that involves some serious embroidery projects. And these threads? They are just incredible! Especially Lavender Hedgerow. Wow!

Your threads are really lovely. I have not done embroidery in years, but I picture in my head what beautiful, interesting pieces you could make with the multi colored threads or even just the subtle variations in your hand dyed solids! There is always room for improvement with photography, but I love how in each photo you catch a little bit of that silken sheen. Each skein seems to glow. I especially love the "Emeralds and a little black dress" thread. Sassy!

I can't choose just one so I'm going with the 3 months Handspun Thread Club Regular Dose. Most delightful!!! That's enough to spur me to get my crazy quilt out and start working on it again. I know what I'm asking for for Christmas...

blackberry milkshake!!!! I did a lot of embroidery when I was in high school---used to have people draw a picture on my jeans and then I would embroidery it. It was fun....hmmm, maybe time to revive the hobby and what a cool way to do it. . . .

LOVE it! All of them are just beautiful and the concept of handspun THREAD that looks this even and beautiful is just mind boggling. The little line she has there of "Once you try handspun, you'll never go back!" I can see being completely true!

So many beautiful colors. This actually has me really wanting to go back to needlework/cross-stitching.

Thanks for the link, I will definitely have to check it out from time to time.

WOW! I may need to get serious about embroidery again! I love the Lavender Hedgerow.

I wish she did yarn too! Those are really spectacular colorways I just want to knit up into shawls. Though, I could see some fantastic embroidery coming out of there, as well. I was drawn to so many, but the Handspun Thread Barred Owl stood out the most to me. So rich looking!

"Spice Trade" really caught my eye... Though I really like the monthly club option. I like surprises. I grow up in a family with generations of cross-stitchers, hummmm these threads would make nice christmas gifts!
