Chicken in the Woods and Giveaway!
I am a little biased when it comes to today's featured shop. ChickenintheWoods is based out of central Illinois, a few hours north of where I live. I have been there many times, and I think Stephanie's name and entire shop is a bit of local color brought to life on sock yarn!
I have been knitting rainbowy things all summer. I am really drawn to the bold, bright colors lately and Stephanie has several beautiful variegated choices. I feel a shift in my buying habits coming on though, as her semi solids are really gorgeous! These Chicken in the Woods yarns make me want to tackle a sock with complicated stitch patterns!
We're giving away 2 skeins of delicious merino/bamboo sock yarn (480 yds!) in a beautiful "Oceanside" colorway. Just visit Chicken in the Woods, find something you like, and post about it in the comments section below! We'll be drawing for a winner on Saturday, make sure you leave a way for us to contact you. As always, I'll count your extra tweeting, plurking, ravelating, facebooking and blogging as extra entries.
Stephanie, thank you for sharing a little bit of Central Illinois with us!

mushrooming...mmmmmm!
Her hand dyed sock yarn in blueberry lime really caught my eye! Very colorful!
I really love the colorway titled "Midwestern Sunset". I don't get too much of a sunset feel from it but, to me, it reminds me of fresh clementines! Tasty, juicy, amazingly sweet, with a little bit of that white rind still on. It looks so good I could eat it! And this is really saying something, because orange isn't usually my color.
Wicked is definitely my fave.
I love the name of the shop. I was immediately drawn to aubergine, but the sunset is pretty too. Oh, shoot, they're all pretty.
The Cherry Blossom is especially cheery on this drab and rainy day.
Well, I didn't see a thing I didn't want. But, top on my list was the Superwash Sock in Wicked. Just love that one.

That "Oceanside" colorway is so peaceful. It's calling my name...
I like that Oceanside colorway best, but also fell for Pepper Jack... really reminds me of the cheese, with those little flecks of red against a creamy background. Thanks for sharing this company. Off to promote your giveaway on FB, where I learned about it from Stephanie, the Wooly Daisy.
