I make a vlog debut! The video is about 10 minutes long. I show everyone the beautiful BFL/Silk Fiber 4oz Giveaway from WCMercantile. I announce my visit to TX’s best little wool shop ( WCMercantile ) for a Marketing your craft/yarn/fiber business online- I briefly touch on what we’ll cover and what to expect. I spin NorthStarAlpacas delicious alpaca/merino roving and Chopper the B.T. gets in to trouble at the end :)

Leave your comments here to be entered in the giveaway- remember we count extra tweeting/facebooking etc as entries!

i know it's a rather simple answer, but honestly i think her merino is my favorite thing in her shop. it's the softest merino i've ever worked with and it come in a gajillion different colors ^.^

Well, because I don't spin.....yet, I like her merino and silk undyed yarn. I love to dye so it would be great to dye and knit this into something beautiful!

so many pretty things to pick from in the shop, I've spun up a couple things from her and highly recommend the sampler for experimenting with and I want those kelp batts BAD!

The kelp batts look delicious. Oh and the polworth please.

yarnmagic on Ravelry said...

The kelp batt is fascinating, I could also pick several items from the Merino Mixes or the Artisian Fibers categories. Or a dye kit - I'd really like that!

I like the .4 oz Skein of Undyed Merino and Silk Yarn .

It was nice watching you spin, you make it look easy with the inch worm techinque. I hope it works with a drop spindle too.

DangAndBlast! said...

Ok, you must like this color -- it matches your shirt! (I bought a pile of yarn last weekend... it all matched my dress. The cashier-person was tickled.)

I've had her merino/tussah silk "Muscadine grape" in my Etsy favorites for weeks. Love the color

I am a huge fan of 3 oz Mystery Bag of Rovings, Tops, and Batts in different Fibers. I love Mystery and grab bags.

I also posted on Twitter about it.

I love all those merino-silk blends, especially Red Riddle! And that alpaca-silk blend in chocolate looks so lovely, too!

I'm crazy about the kettle dyed mohair! Especially the emerald green.

Although I'd rather go to Stephanies shop in Navasota and feel and smell her great stuff, she does have free etsy shipping!! I'm lusting over the kelp batt too!!

I loved your vlog! Great job! =D

Really, my favorite thing is the Little Gem Spinning Wheel. I don't have a spinning wheel and gosh I'd love one and that one would really be ideal. Now if I just win the lottery. lol

Your dog is ADORABLE too. =D

Id love one of the beautiful dan lace spindles! And some of that gorgeous natural cashmere. oh the things i could do with that spindle!

Lilacs and Lilies!! I'd also like to try silk hankies.

The VLOG: I like it. It is nice to see your face and have a personal message. It makes one feel more connected and special. :) As far as suggestions...I don't know if you have a time limit in mind for the future, but I might suggest one, and maybe just a wee bit shorter. I have two VERY active boys and I don't always have the time to attend to something that long, if you know what I mean. I'm sure some would like more, but just a thought. :)

WC Mercantile: Wow! What's not to love!? I do like the kettle died rovings, especially the ones that have different shades of the same color.

Top of my want list is the Ashford Joy. More manageable dollarwise ia the Americus batt.

The Canyon Lake Merino is gorgeous.

Should I choose just one thing it'd be the Schacht Ladybug Spinning Wheel. Should I take into consideration my bank account it's the Artisan Dyed Superfine Merino Wool - Canyon Lake

I love the vblog. I enjoy watching you "in person." I hope you do this again.
WCMerc has to so much to love. Right now I am all over the Kelp batt.

I know it's not all that original, but I love the Carbonized Bamboo batt. It's such a smooth fiber and color

Well, I gotta be honest, what I most want on WC Mercantile is that Ashford drum carder! But as for what I could and would actually buy? Any of those merino and tencel mixes, please! Twittered on southern_mystic.

Heather said...

Wow, this fiber is so, so beautiful! But I don't see it in the shop???

Anyway, I have a list:
1. sari silk
2. more bobbins for my Ladybug
3. any of Steph's merino -- it's like butter.

:D

WC Mercantile was one of the first Etsy shops I faved! I'm so excited that they are featured for this giveaway!
Their prices are very decent and I appreciate that they are now offering more hand-painted-dyed rovings.
If I could afford it, I'd probably get something (or two) from each page.

I am in love with the iceburg blue merino. It would make a beautiful shawl.

I can't decide on just one. I think I'd have to buy all the natural fibers, especially since I'm trying to sample new fibers. The Wooly Wonder kit and Curiosity kit, for sure.

I enjoyed your vlog! Usually I'm not too keen on watching vlogs; I think it's an instant gratification on the internet-related situation, but it's enjoyable to watch you spinning and waxing on fibery goodness. :)

Canyon Lake is so....pretty!

Lisa said...

This is tough so many nice items. Of course who doesn't love a spinning wheel? Fiber would have to be the merino top in Forest Floor. This is definitely a place to go shopping at.

I always love the variety of solid colors that WC Mercantile has to offer. Looking at the page reminds me of oil paints on a palette. However, the Forever in Bluejeans Merino Top really caught my eye, and I love the idea of 3oz of "mystery" fiber! I'd gamble on that!

Dagny said...

6 oz of the beautiful blue and orange corriedale top...lovely! I've shopped at WC before and was so pleased with their products!

Corvi44 said...

My list is too long :)
I went straight to the luxury fibers: cashmere, angora, & baby camel top!

Under Artisan Fibers: The Lilacs & Lilies

Dan Duree's Lace-Weight Drop Spindle (beautifully carved)

But I think the coolest by far is their "Dye Your Own (dreamy 100% Baby Llama yarn) DK Weight" Kit. You get almost 318 yards and a choice of 3 dyes for under $24.

Just a great selection All the Way Around! And so kind of them to offer no shipping!

2 oz Hand-pulled Roving - Merino Wool -- Gloria - is my fav!

Ummm, drum carder pleeze!
What don't I love in this shop. I love the natural undyed roving especially the merino wool top gray. Sometimes it is nice to work with the fibres as they occur naturally.
