Mama Jude's Plant Dyed Giveaway!
I'm a huge Mama Jude's Plant Dyed Stuff fan! I'm telling you, this stuff has a wonderful 'vibe' to it, when you handle it. Using Judy's yarns is like using good handmade soap, it has a rustic elegance to it, and can become addicting.
This month, Judy sent in some amazing plant dyed mohair locks- they were incredibly soft and lustrous and the colors were so vibrant, it's just hard to imagine those bright colors coming from plant dyes!
Last month for our favorite book theme, Judy dyed some beautiful yarn based on Laura Engalls Wilder books. We have a full sized "In the Big Woods" fingering weight yarn in "harvest green". Love those golden yellows! Just visit Mama Jude's Plant Dyed Stuff, find something you like, and write about it in the comments section below this post. We'll draw for a winner later in the week, but you should be sure and use twitter, facebook, rav etc to let everyone know about Judy's shop- and we'll count that as an extra entry.
Thanks so much for sharing with US Mama Judy!

the Tiger Lily Worsted is gorgeous! I can see it now, on my needles...sigh. You're an enabler. :)
I love the Fire / Rowdy Girl shawl skein! Thanks for the chance to win!
This is funny! I ordered a skein of Water Lily Pond less than two hours ago - the silk and wool light fingering yarn inspired by one of Claude Monet's "Water Lily Pond" paintings.
I loved this when it went up and it is still sooo tempting now! BE MY VALENTINE--Hand Dyed Merino Twist--Sport-Double Knitting--Four Ounces--240 Plus Yards--Plant Dyed, really need to find something to use it for so I have an excuse to buy it!
Winter sky medium blue is simply stunning!!!
Ooo, the child's woodland gnome hat is absolutely adorable! If only my toddler would leave a hat on, I would so buy it immediately!
this- Needle Felting--Rainbow Skinny Stack with Earth Tones--10 Sheets--4 by 8 Inches--Plant Dyed--Felt Applique
and auntboos mohair
Her hat patterns are adorable! Not to mention the yarrrrrrrn......
I love that no matter how bleak and wintery it is outside, there's always a rainbow at Mama Jude's place!
What's my favorite at this moment? I think the Meadow Flowers handspun. So soft and springy.
I just love the "be my valentine" colorway. And I can't believe all those vibrant colors came from plant dyes!
I keep telling myself I can resist all the bright, bulky yarns in the shop. Zinnia, particularly is calling my name. I feel my willpower weakening....
I like the Valentine colorway. I have dyed with brazilwood, but mine comes out more brown colors than pinks. I guess it's the fiber. Interesting colorway.
I just love the .Pastel Rainbow--Single Ply Bulky Skein--100 Grams--90 Plus Yards--Finger Chain Knit--Plant Dyed
I will tweet this also.
One Or Two Or A Few !
Each and every beautiful and colorful yarn calls to me whether it be the spring greens, the pinks, the purples,
well you get it, everything........
One word describes it all
FANTABULOUS !!!!
Thanks for introducing me to the world of Mama Jude
Happy Valentines Day.....
Ronni
who has fingers & toes crossed and cramped hoping and praying you choose me............
The Frosted Cerise in 50% silk & 50% Merino wool in worsted caught my eyes. I also like the sunrise colorway. I was a big fan of all of Laura Ingalls Wilder books when I was a little girl even watched Little House on the Prairie series on tv.
I love the Zinnia Single-ply Bulky-the colors are so pretty and the single ply is one of my favorite ways to knit with a bulky yarn
Those locks... ALL of the colors... are gorgeous!
Loads of gorgeous yarn, but I fell in love with Yearling Mohair Locks--Claude Monet Colorway--4 Ounces--Plant Dyed
I'm drooling over the Water Lily Pond skein! The colors work amazingly together!
I really like the mohair locks inspired by the "Waterlilies" painting. I spun some yarn awhile back that was inspired by the same painting. Plus the Zebra felt is really cool. Reminds me of the days when I experimented with shibori on felt. Plus, Judy sent me a Valentine... she rocks!
I'm a sucker for a beautiful single-ply. Zinnias *BEYOND* qualifies. Wow. It's amazing!!!
RTed @millarca!
Oh my!! Her colors are absolutely amazing!! I wish we could get some of those colors when natural dyeing at living history events!! LOL
I love this Sunset Variegated--Superwash Sport Weight Wool--4.2 Ounces--250 Plus Yards--Plant Dyed. The colors are wonderful.
Lilly pond is my favorite color
No matter how much I ooh and aah over all the lush colors, I love the Monet colors and kept coming back to Water Lilies. The silk/wool combination ought to feel like a dream, too.
I LOVE the sky blue worsted. I just can't believe that's from a plant dye - just beautiful! Everything there is!
The Water Lilies Silk Wool blend looks absolutely gorgeous. I don't normally go for pastels, but these look so pretty!

I'm doing my first plant-dyed experiments later this month, so it's exciting to see these multicolored and beautiful results! Mine are going to be mostly browns, from black walnut hulls :)
I'm intrigued and impressed at the Hair as Black as Ebony yarn. Wow, that came from a plant??? Awesome!
Water Lillies is my fave. I always enjoy seeing how people perceive that work and turn it into their own, whether it be dyeing yarn or some other medium.
