Mama Jude's Plant Dyed Giveaway!

I'm a huge Mama Jude's Plant Dyed Stuff fan! I'm telling you, this stuff has a wonderful 'vibe' to it, when you handle it. Using Judy's yarns is like using good handmade soap, it has a rustic elegance to it, and can become addicting.

This month, Judy sent in some amazing plant dyed mohair locks- they were incredibly soft and lustrous and the colors were so vibrant, it's just hard to imagine those bright colors coming from plant dyes!

Last month for our favorite book theme, Judy dyed some beautiful yarn based on Laura Engalls Wilder books. We have a full sized "In the Big Woods" fingering weight yarn in "harvest green". Love those golden yellows! Just visit Mama Jude's Plant Dyed Stuff, find something you like, and write about it in the comments section below this post. We'll draw for a winner later in the week, but you should be sure and use twitter, facebook, rav etc to let everyone know about Judy's shop- and we'll count that as an extra entry.

Thanks so much for sharing with US Mama Judy!

This is funny! I ordered a skein of Water Lily Pond less than two hours ago - the silk and wool light fingering yarn inspired by one of Claude Monet's "Water Lily Pond" paintings.

I love that no matter how bleak and wintery it is outside, there's always a rainbow at Mama Jude's place!

What's my favorite at this moment? I think the Meadow Flowers handspun. So soft and springy.

I just love the "be my valentine" colorway. And I can't believe all those vibrant colors came from plant dyes!

Chris said...

I keep telling myself I can resist all the bright, bulky yarns in the shop. Zinnia, particularly is calling my name. I feel my willpower weakening....

I like the Valentine colorway. I have dyed with brazilwood, but mine comes out more brown colors than pinks. I guess it's the fiber. Interesting colorway.

The Frosted Cerise in 50% silk & 50% Merino wool in worsted caught my eyes. I also like the sunrise colorway. I was a big fan of all of Laura Ingalls Wilder books when I was a little girl even watched Little House on the Prairie series on tv.

I really like the mohair locks inspired by the "Waterlilies" painting. I spun some yarn awhile back that was inspired by the same painting. Plus the Zebra felt is really cool. Reminds me of the days when I experimented with shibori on felt. Plus, Judy sent me a Valentine... she rocks!
