Where in the World is Knickolas?

Knickolas spent several sunny days in Florida last month, and didn't really want to come back to cold, gray, Illinois. I'm glad he did because we sure missed his bright, albeit a bit sarcastic humor around here.
Carly, his host Mom, showed Knick about her back yard and he got to bask in the warm Florida sun, by her Koi pond. He told me later that he now considers feeding fish a favorite activity. Carly had a slide in her back yard too, Knick was sure to take full advantage of that.
Since fiber and yarn is what Knickolas loves most, Carly and Knick spent several evenings evaluating her stash and current knitting and crochet projects. Carly is involved with the Snuggles Project on Ravelry which donates "snugglies" to animal shelters. Knick tested one out and confirmed it's snuggliness. He also posed next to a small knitted bag made from a February Sample (Vines Handspun).
Carly took very good care of Knick and is now expecting her Free box for March!
Knick is en route to a mystery destination (we box all the boxes and then attach labels to the tops) and we are all anxiously awaiting word back that he has arrived safely! In the meantime, another magical creature as appeared from fiber artist, Myfairbaglady.
I had intended to post this yesterday but, well laid plans- you know :)
For your giveaway enjoyment: A hand felted leprechaun!! Inside his coal black pot is not gold, but a felted ring! I tried it on to gauge size and it is approximately a size 7. All you have to do to win this lucky leprechaun, is tell us about something "lucky" happening to you below in the comments section! I'll draw for this guy on Friday, so leave a way for me to find you!
Oh, and for those lucky people who get a Myfairbaglady sample in their March boxes- they are filled with "lucky llamas" and "lucky lambs!" Each one of the 50 she sent in were different and if you send her a little story about yours, you'll get a discount in her shop!

I love the pictures of Knickolas - so cool! I've got a talent of finding 4 leaf clovers. That's lucky isn't it?

It was so nice to see your writeup on Knick's adventure down here. I was pretty lucky to get Knick in my box last month and I've been very lucky meeting great friends online (wink)!

I love the felted ring!

I am, traditionally, not a very lucky person, but my husband and oldest daughter are. I get so jealous when they put one raffle ticket in the pot and I put in dozens and they win something and I don't! I am lucky, however, to have a wonderful, large family, a farm, and my health.

PS Maybe a leprechaun would change that for me.....

They said it would be raining today, but the sun is all over the place making everything look like Spring. That's luck for me as I had to do work in the garden today...

I love that Carly took photos of his travels- I wouldn't have thought of that. Very cute. He reminds me of the Travelocity Gnome! He gets to go wherever he wants and gives away stuff. Yeah Knickolas!

As for lucky, I finally won something on my birthday this year. It was 2/11/09 and I was on the way to PHX to pick up my grandmother who flew in from SFO. I was listening to the radio and the DJ (Robin) was giving away tickets to my favorite band. I called and told her I haven't seen them since I moved to AZ and exactly 7 years ago on that day I got their logo tattoo'd on me. She gave me tickets and the show rocked!

Oh yeah... I was married on 07-07-07 at 7pm. That was lucky! (Especially since we didn't plan on it!) Don't worry, we were sober!

I am pretty lucky I think. I have a loving husband who went to Iraq and came home safely and a wonderful little boy who makes my daily life joyous and exciting! Not only that I'm expecting another boy in mid-July! Also, I get to move to Arizona on the military's dime!!! If that's not lucky, then I don't know what is!

I would say we were very lucky to drive 2000 miles towing a trailer, and with 2 dogs and 2 cats in the truck and we had absolutely no mishaps or problems! For us, that is very unusual- and lucky!

My good luck actually comes through my 18-year-old daughter. She has been applying for colleges around the country and found out this week that she has been accepted to Smith College. Now, that's good news--BUT, what is even better news is that it is in the same town as WEBS yarn store!

I'm writing about my ethical dilemma in asserting undue influence in her college decision making process on my blog.

I'd love to have your opinions, too!

Hmmm...lucky? I am very lucky to have the friends I have. I have been going through some not so fun stuff and wouldn't be able to without the friends I have.

Not to mention I have a full-time job (that I like!), my partner has a job, we have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. In these times I would say that's a whole lotta' luck! :)

I'm lucky to have a hubby whose reaction to my crafting is "that's nice" and not "you spent what?" And whoever gets Knickolas is the luckiest of all!

I've always been lucky. Right now the best thing is that I have a good stable (I hope) job that I love.

I've got a hubby who still makes me laugh after nearly 25 years, three teenagers who are healthy, do relatively well in school and are usually a lot of fun to be with. Oh yeah, and I scored a PhatFiber box two months in a row! How lucky can you get?

I'm lucky to have found another position that I like within my company. I was plotting a double murder in my old area.

I really hope Knickolas shows up in my box!! I will have a blast showing him around my city!! I am lucky enough to have a beautiful home, a healthy family, and lots of great friends. As far as being lucky enough to win contests, not so much...

I am lucky that I got married after less than a year together when I was only 19, and we're still going strong 7 years later! I am also lucky to have two beautiful and healthy children.

I am lucky to have a full time job, own/operate my own business, and be a full-time grad student, and I seem to be retaining my sanity while I juggle all three.

I am lucky that my hubby is endlessly patient and supportive of me. I am lucky that he is a "modern man" in the same way that I'm a "modern woman": he worked so that I could go to college, was fully supportive after three different majors, he cooks, cleans, does laundry, and lets me just relax when I get home, he readily agreed when I wanted to start my own business and started learning cake decorating when I got swamped, and lastly he knits and crochets too, so he understands my obsessions! On the morning of the March sale he asked why I was up so early on a weekend and when I told him that I wanted to see how fast the boxes would go this time, he said "Well if you're on there anyway, you might as well try to get one..." And then when I didn't get one during the morning sale, he sat and talked through strategy with me for nearly an hour, then when I was lucky enough to get a box in the afternoon sale, he happy-danced with me too!

Lol! I'm such a lucky girl....

I think I've been getting luckier than ever lately. I'd been an accident that kept me in and out of hospitals for surgeries-5 in 5 years. It looked like I was on the way to recovery, was able to work, and then fell in the office & have been spending most of the last year and a half in bed again getting worse instead of better. I just went to the hospital for a treatment to see if it could help & it looks like I could be one of the very lucky ones who will go through a series of procedures, a short stay in the hospital & hopefully end up pain free and able to move about again. To be pain free after 8 years of debilitating pain is beyond lucky-it'll be miraculous! Fingers & toes crossed (no wonder I'm having difficulty knitting LOL )

Love the pics of Knick's travels. We should start a scrapbook for him. The most lucky thing i can think of i have daily, my hubby and daughter. My daughter is 16 with a good boyfriend and is a full time college student, very responsible and still loves to kiss and hug her parents in public! My hubby, well, aside from being my best friend, he spoils me and loves me even if i'm weird and crazy! (smile)

I've been very lucky and fortunate to have come across such a wonderful group like Phat Fiber. All of the contributors aer lovely, and I've definitely enjoyed getting to know everyone. Everyone has such a different life and different stories, yet we all come together to share a massive love (obsession?) of fibery goodness.

I'm lucky to be married to the sweetest man in the world. He takes care of our fiber on the hoof, trips over spinning wheels to get into bed and eats in a kitchen that is overflowing with yarn and fiber. I love that man!

Hey Knickolas was at my house when i got home!!! (so funny and yay!) Poor Knick went from sunny florida to drizzly wet WA, hopefully the snow is gone for good though. Daughter and i are thinking of adventures for Knick's visit, and we have made him an honorary Murphy for the month...a good irish gnome.

I just sold my MIL's apartment after it being on the market for over a year! I consider that good luck. Also I have a wonderful family, good friends, and not bad health! That is lucky.

And the leprechaun said he wants to live with me.

Hmm, something lucky that happened to me? Not much lately, I'm afraid. But I did get a big bag of raw fiber from bahhurrah and I had plans that required some so that's lucky . . . . I really love that little leprechaun and since I didn't get any of Baglady's little sheep . . . . here's to hoping for just a little luck!
