Happy Housewife and *Giveaway*

SQUEE!
Can you even believe it?! Happy Housewife Soap (the Violet half of Lime and Violet) whipped up some cupcakes just for Phat Fiber! We are debuting HH's new cupcake scents in our box! For those of you who do not get cupcakes (perfume vials) in your phat box (on sale Thursday night!), you'll be able to buy them in their shop after January 15th. For those of you who are not familiar with Happy Housewife (shame on you) or Lime and Violet, beware! You are about to be inducted into a CULT full of wool *prOn*, scented sundries, and a few radiantly hilarious women who let us listen in about their lives, business, and of course knits in progress! Knitting podcasts.. who knew?!
I have yet to sample their yarn (shame on me), but my hands absolutely ache to try some of their "intention" yarns!

On to the cupcakes! As some of you know, I am a wearer of perfume. I wouldn't go as far as calling myself an aficionado- I just like the "bon vivant" and part of that is smelling nice. I am especially fond of indie frangranceurs as the sheer scope of scents offered by a company like Happy Housewife, will keep me busy exploring and sampling for a good long while. The quality of the product you get from a smaller company will always keep you coming back for more. As I mentioned previously, these scents are not yet on the site, so very few people other than me have smelled these. I guess what I'm trying to say is, these are exquisite scents and don't take my interpretation for anything, as you really do need to experience them yourself!

The first cupcake offered up is "knit" Which is described as "A musky vanilla sweet concoction just right for those garter stitch scarves" For me, it is both sweet and fresh. At first a deep and sweet vanilla that has a very light and powdery dry down. Comfort in a vial.

Next is "Purl" which is described as "A sharp and sweet tea-and-chocolate scent perfect for those stockinette moments." Purl is more complex- it has a fleeting bitter chocolate note at the beginning which melds into a cup of orange pekoe with an incense-y dry down. The more I sniff, the more I likey!

I love this concept and I hope Happy Housewife will pursue more of these "sitches" and make a series! I felt these were extremely thoughtful and well-executed. Two is good to start with because we can dab one each wrist while we knit! Wearing perfume has the added benefit of lightly scenting your F.O's as well, yay!

On to the contest! I have reserved a special cupcake duo for you! Remember, you have until Friday to post, we'll be doing mass drawings then. Please visit Happy Housewife soap, find something you like, and post about it below! Plurks, tweets, blog and forum posts will net you additional entries. Remember to leave an identifying mark so I can hunt you down later when you win! Good luck!
Ten thousand thank-you's to the Lime and Violet team for contributing such delightful samples to January's box. I beg you to contribute to future boxes!

I love the retro, "Betty Crocker" feel of the site. It's easy to navigate, draws the eye and feels like a warm hug in general. The colors, fragrances and textures call to me.

I love hand made soaps, and the Black Forest Granite looks very cool!
I had not seen the Intentions yarn before, LOVE it! *sigh*, there goes the ol' paypal account!

Well I love the sounds of many of the scents, and I "feel like I *ought* to like "Farmgirl" the best, since that's what I am, but really "Sail on Silvergirl" just gets me singin' so that's my pick!

Oooh, the Cookie Jar set of perfume sounds delicious. I'm a BPAL fan who's attracted to foody scents, so that'd really be up my alley.

I've been addicted to Happy Housewife since she opened and recently purchased all 25 Advent scents! There is not a bad one in the bunch and my particular favorite is Pink Aluminum Tree! And her Honey/Oatmeal soap is to die for!

I'll Plurk a link to this post now!

Oh, I'm so sorely tempted to order the Julep scent. I'm from Kentucky, so I feel kind of obligated to recognize our cultural heritage. I'm knitonmycat on Ravelry.

What an adorable site! I love the look of it. I'm a huge sucker for anything that smells good and their soaps look amazing. The wine and teacakes soap sounds like it smells delicious! I also love the idea of the cupcakes - I hope I win

Hmm... Well HH has made me broke and broke again, having to obtain almost every single scent there is, haha. I absolutely love what V cooks up, soaps and oils alike. My fav (currently) of her perfumes is the Blackest Violet, it is OMG yummy, followed by some of the Poe series and the Sugar Plums.

I think I'm too late, but the Poe yarn/scent club sounds awesome! I've been listening to L&V for a couple years and I've always loved their different endeavors. The daily chum is a daily ritual for me. I'd love to sample knit and purl!

I'd have to wait for the 'Knit' or the 'Purl' scents. I love vanilla scents and I'd love to find out what a chocolate-orange scent is like.

The rovings are tempting of course as a spinner...

okay, that's just awesome that they sell "cupcakes." I totally fall into that genre that has to try it before the make a full on commitment. That's why I just have to get one of the fiber boxes on Thursday! ;]

There is nothing I love more than the scent of Fresh Linens. It smells simultaneously like.. baby powder and rain.. And so to see that they have a scent (Embroidered Linens) that captures this is wonderful.

Oh choices, choices ... I like Embroidered Linens, but I also like Farmgirl. Ooh, but I bet Sail on Silver Girl would be really good, too. (And to think, they say women are indecisive ... )

I love the idea of the cupcake club (and really, anything with the word "cupcake" in it gets my vote!). Samples are my friend. :-)

Ok, I love Embroidered Linens from HHS, and can't wait to try the Single People Awareness Day (Valentines Day) SMUT line that comes out tomorrow. I love listening to Miss V and Carin on the show, and talking about the new sniffies. I blame my Plurk friends for getting me hooked here. I really want to try the Purl scent now. Oh, where is my paycheck?

Again, I plurked it. http://www.plurk.com/p/d1rin and again, TGFA is me,

I loved soda jerk when she first started (soap wise) and have lusted after the little cupcakes just to say I had them. I liked the set she did about the red apron...waaay back again. But her Christmas scents were fantastic too. Thinking of getting some SMUT though, cause that's never NOT funny. :D
